AnonD-545431, 05 Jun 2016FIXED: I had same problem for a while when battery level go... moreHello friend, i have the same problem and tried your steps but it didnt worked... im thinking on making a downgrade in order to confirm if the problem is the software unless you have another method to try! FIXED: I had same problem for a while when battery level goes below 35% and I get some white lines flickering then my Tab S 8.4 restarts and never works normal unless I plug in onto the power charger . Once charged, works fine until battery level reaches below 35% and the same loop happens again and ag again,
SOLUTION: that worked for me:
1- Go to "Settings" Menu
2- on the top "Settings" Menu, select "General"
3- on the lower left side, select "Power Saving"
4- on the upper right side, Enable the "Power Saving Mode" -> turn it green
5- click on "Power Saving Mode" , Enable "Restrict Performance" -> turn it green
I have followed the exact above steps based on my own testing and my own logic and it's one day so far and it's working perfect and my tab can work on battery until 1% battery level without any flickering or the old sudden restart.
Please try it and leg me know if it worked for you as well or not.
Thank you
Tarek

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2016Turn on power safe mode. It seems octa core is not stable ... moreI have had this very annoying problem for a few days so done as you said to turn on power saving mode. This has worked for me but I had to put it on charge to get it stabilized to be able to do it. Screen Mirroring can't be used because it needs power saving turned off.

Hey guys good news here I had the same problem for months so I decided to hard reset the tablet to see if I had downloaded something bad, when it rebooted the problem was still there, so I then decided to remove the back and take out the battery for a few minutes, after putting the battery back in the problem was gone, guess the battery saves commands on the tablet as well, it's been a week and the flicker and reboot no longer happens hope this help you guys, I feel your frustration

I tried to reach samsung chat online to explain the problem with flickers and reboots. They were very patient but of very little help. They gave me a phone number concerned with international versions, though I explained to them I bought it from the US. Further, they told me this flicker reboot problem was not reprted to them before I did???

My galaxy tab s 8.4 used to shut off randomly but it seemed app related. Only a few times it shut down for no apparent reason. But a quick restart and I could use it for hours with no problems. After I upgraded to Android version 5.0.2 my device kept shutting down. I adjusted the auto display off to 10min but didn't help. Then I remembered turning off my screen saver, the dream screen setting, so I turned that back on and now it doesn't shutdown anymore. It's on the weather option but that probably doesn't matter. Note that my tablet is nearly always plugged into my computer's USB and I use Nova Launcher which reduces battery drain I believe. With brightness turned down when I'm not using it, it will actually charge off the computer USB plugin even though there's an x on the battery meaning that it's not charging I believe. Also note that when it was shutting down I had to hold power and volume down for 5 seconds or so to start it up. Battery usually says 99% or 100%, although the first few days I had it, I thought it was missreportied battery life one time. Anyways, it's been over a year at least now and it's still doing great almost like a second computer for downloading multiple files at the same time. Something my Moto G can't seem to do with just 1GB of ram. Seems like the 3gigs of rams helps alot. Didn't realize how awesome my Tab S was until I tried multitasking on my phone. Still a great phone for $200 but the Tab S is pretty much amazing as you all known, if you can keep it working I guess. Good luck, hope info helps.

Turn on power safe mode. It seems octa core is not stable in lollipop 5.0.1. Use quad does fix the flickering and random reboot.

I had a Galaxy s2 and it wasn't a very smooth experience. Should've learned my lesson. This will be my last Samsung device

This is very very frustrating.. I have literally checked the entire google trying to get a solution for the flickering and loss of network issues.. Some say it is a hardware issue, some say software.
I gave it to a service center and those guys just formatted the tab without backing any of my data or even bothering to ask me if I backed or not and still the problem did not get resolved.
The biggest problem is that I bought the stupid device in the first place. i had an option to buy the ipad mini and still dumb little me thought why not Samsung.
This is why. Sucks to be a samsung user.

Exactly same problem what I have . Below %60 battery it's getting crazy.sometimes I cannot turn screen on from sleep mode by pressing home button.if I'm luck I press power button then I have a second to unlock screen.if I don't unlock immediately it goes to sleep mode again.
Definetely it happened after lollipop.
As I have checked there is a way to downgrade from lollipop to kitkat.
Have a look at below tutorial.

I don't have time to try it now but I'll do it ASAP.

I didn't know that the issue was due to the lollipop upgrade. I though my Tab S is broken and I really was so annoyed that I want to throw it away. Was there any update from Samsung on this issue?
