he_stheone64, 11 Nov 2009I trust this can be a smart move, since they realized that ... moreYou guys are just so smart, Dejavu, Julius, Kal, the other guy who replied to Julius. I truely believe in this smart move by Samsung and yes they should polish this OS like Apple and Palm as well as BlackBerry did then again buy one of those apps and games companies like Gameloft or Sega. They will rule this mobile world considering that they build their phones on a Java platform cause they made a lot of 'dumb' phones with document viewers and a TV out. That's how dumb they can be, smart isn't it? A good concept altogether. I just love it.

if only samsung would create a company not a division but a single company like gameloft for developing games just for samsung like gameloft is mainly developing games for iphone besides little share for winmo.

than samsung would even cut middleman for games. this company must cut all middlemans. games, app. and i believe that koreans can satisfy american and european customers. or just why not investe money or buy SEGA. they have money.

if they can pull of a company which stands alone who makes app and games just for them and who are well established then they have a winning solution just like apple.

Samsung Engg., 12 Nov 2009Ok, here some clarifications... BADA is not a new OS. T... moreThat's what I thought. Knew that they have been fine tuning their touchwiz to make it a full fledged smart OS. I believe this is it. BADA. Funny it's a slang in my mother tongue though. But Samsung is moving in the right direction and this only shows how they are focused.

BADA is not a new OS.
This OS is used in most of Samsung tocuh phones like STAR, Corby, Ultratouch, Pixon.

Now, Samsung has decided to make this OS open to all, so here is BADA for you !!

                        Samsung Engg.

I want to know how can take a change of smartphone market.

I'm not sure that Bada OS should be make it's way to a huge range of devices and application SW on mobile phone.

I'd like to expect newly the steams of smartphone than WinMo and Symian OS.

Dumb phones, i.e., phones that put hardware above software, are going to disappear in the near future. Slowly, but will. Just like the dumb computers of the very past did.

We are entering the "OS" age for mobiles just like the computers did in the 70s/80s. Curiously enough, it was, once again, Apple who got the attention for this "personal phone" device with software.

And just like the computers, I won't go the Apple route. :)

This is smart move on long track. Having your own Open OS is always good thing. Depending on others is never good. Look at WM devices - even you have HW you have to wit for others to get SW.
Android is next sample - nice phones with not so good SW in begining stage.

This is good thing and customers will benefit from it for sure in times to come.

Only ones that have to worry are other OS vendors and phone manufacturers. Nokia is only one having its OS. All others are depending on OS producers.

I trust this can be a smart move, since they realized that dumb phones will die soon and the big business lies in a smartphone OS, that is able to run on low end devices with the advantage of adding nice software also on devices, that cost less than $ 100,00. Would anybody buy a PC, where you can`t add software? The same will happen with mobiles, since they don`t replace computers, but they replace them in certain segments (quick requests for news, sport, weather, email, chat). So this market will be huge in a few years.

Just like the mac os, samsung should have its own name tagged OS such as BADA, much like an exclusive or trademark os. If consumer wants nice software then samsung is there the answer the needs. This only means that samsung can make everything and nothing could stop them.
