Contract , 19 Jun 20157- 8 years is way too long. 2- 3 years us more like it as... more100% with your comment. Nokia went down a bit because Symbian was on its last legs but build quality.aerials, audio, cameras etc were top notch with Nokia. There are millions of Nokia fans still here right now ready to return,I am one of them. Always been a Nokia fan and hope they bring their quality back and some quirky traditional Nokia designs in this monotonous slab world.

My wish is Nokia E90 device running Android.

2- 3 years us more like it as Nokia will be launching into Android already established

Nokia always fitted their phones with removable batteries and microSD expansion which now even Samsung traded in

Nokia essentially built phone specified by Microsoft, Windows is known for its computers now its phones.

Being Android this is internal switching so chasing specs.
Nokia despite the overcrowding Nokia will surprise, it phones will be mid high range and solid.

NOKIA will not lend its name to cheapness so those who worry need not

It will be a phone as I am sick of everybody making their own versions of iPhones.

If Nokia came back, HTC, Samsung, LG would be in awe of what to do.

Nobody on this site understands persistence. As long as Samsung is a multi billionaire company, Microsoft is more than capable of criticizing their own (solid) budget phones, all these companies are persistent in their own right.

Nobody. Not Samsung, Apple, or Microsoft are going to stop selling phones. Besides, MS already stopped for four or something years after the KIN Debacle.

Apple has loyal fans on the edge of madness:) But on the other hand I recpect Apple because the are different, they have unique OS and don't need nobody. Nokia was like that for almost 20 years..m

paulleern, 19 Jun 2015the death of samsung and iphone is imminent! hahahaNo. The latter however never was born, or maybe for a tiny bit of time, the former has a LONG long way to go. Mark my word on this. No real manufacturer could be going out from market this fast, its just not possible.

People don't have a brain nowadays I am sorry to say.

I respect Apple and Nokia. Apple made revolution in mobile business and Nokia was always world No1 smartphone maker.

the death of samsung and iphone is imminent! hahaha

Nokia became iconic because they manufactured the phones, not designed or put their names only!

In any case, I suppose their financial condition isn't up to the mark to actually manufacture phones any more, so they will have to tie up with a bigger brand. But they need to make the phones! No one is going to buy a Foxconn made Nokia labelled phone, at least I won't. Then when they have achieved enough profits to be able to make phones again cancel that tie up/ contract. That's how every large player have succeeded in past years, and will continue to do so in future.

But the main thing which should always be there, Nokia quality.

Let's hope Nokia is coming back to be truly memorable, not to just cash in a few percentage points of profit on the goodwill associated with the name. I will be ecstatic if Nokia just releases a 2016 edition of the Nokia N8: boost the memory up to 2GB; double the pixel density but same size screen; keep the HDMI and USB host; add CAT6 LTE. I am so bored with big screen wafers that you cannot use one handed.
