I am on my 4th phone from T-Mobile in one week. I have the Galaxy S II for 1 year, and about 4 months ago it started with the pink Hue in the center and sometimes around the picture. It is extremely frustrating and both T-Mobile and Samsung said it is not a known problem......why don't they check the internet! I am at my wits end both my husband and I have the same phone with the same problem! Urgh

It is not a software issue it is actually a hardware issue. HTC have simply manipulated the rendering software to deal with the pink spot. This spot is still visible in video mode.
Its cheap fix and not acceptable, when customers have forked out $$ for a product that they know has a hardware fault.
My phone was 3 times into service for this problem. Finally they replace it with a new one but the spot still exists. Maybe Nexus one have the same problem with the camera.

Spectra, 30 Nov 2009... still shows up in VIDEOS ... (my mistake)they bodge..umm.. the patch cannot keep up with the huge rate of the computations required to correct the issue.. It's a hardware fault, most probably the coating.

I've bought HTC HD 2 in France with Orange France telecom, now as the first time I took a picture at the shop, the same issue of *pink*. I don't know what and how to deal with this issue. How can we get rid of this problem? Any hotfix to this error yet? Is it sure that the problem is about software not hardware?
Anyone has any idea?

Spectra, 30 Nov 2009H/W or S/W fault: well, I looked deeper into that issue, an... more... still shows up in VIDEOS ... (my mistake)

H/W or S/W fault: well, I looked deeper into that issue, and either it is the weirdest autowhitebalance problem I have ever seen, or the lens coating was somehow fscked up during the manufacturing process. If the pink-center is gone in pictures, but still shows up after the fix is applied, then it was a hardware fault. Probably the wisest would be to wait till the first reports arrive to xda-dev (...and the prices fall and fall... even now -20% at my loc... hehe)

I've enjoyed HTC phones and for the most part, prices.
But not their cameras.
I've lived with my current crappy HTC and ridden it into the ground. Been shopping for a new phone with both a larger screen and better camera that will permit great stills, good non-choppy D1 video and live streaming via Wi-Fi or 3G. The list of devices that meet that criteria is short and does not contain a single HTC phone which is unfortunate because their gear is very good in every other way.
Not sure what is holding them back in this area given the coin they're dropping on the rest of the gear.
Have no thought this comment will help in HTC deciding to upgrade their camera offerings but hope they're listening and capable of doing a little math. Investing more in their cameras on just one or two devices would result in a greater market share currently occupied by Nokia, Sony-Ericsson and Samsung.

from htc team, 24 Nov 2009Thank you for choosing HTC the PDA maker to the world Dear ... moreHow about the signal issue? I've got an htc touch viva and what annoys me is that it has no network coverage but when I put my sim card to my other phone it got full bar of signal.

beside the camera it has some problem with its antenna, it shows no network coverage in a place that other phones work. i think it has some problem with some brands of BTS antennas.
