Sony Ericsson Aino pulled out from UK stores just after Satio

27 November, 2009
Only a week ago Carphone Warehouse pulled out the Satio from their stores due to software issues. Now the not-so-touchable Aino followed its Symbian sibling with complaints about touch performance...

I really don't trust sony's material used in making phones.... although I'm a Sonyericsson user+fan. And that was the punishment for sony for NOT making full touch phones for the mid range market where Nokia, Samsung, LG etc all gave their users a bunch of mid range touch phones!!!

SE FOR EVER!, 30 Nov 2009What a joke! I talk to him about SE and he talks to me abou... moreLOL have you been logical or reasonable? You are calling others pathetic, ignorant looser or talking rubbish. Have you realized what you have been saying? From where have you got this impression that GSMarena ranking makes SE the second most preferred brand? Yes in theory but in real? NO. Do you have any freaking idea about where SE stands in the market? They are far below nokia, samsung, lg...and here you are talking about SE being voted or ranked the second. Why don't you ask yourself where are those voters and why they just voted and didn't buy those SE phones? Because that would have make SE come back in business.

What a joke! I talk to him about SE and he talks to me about apple! hahaha very funny, I'm talking about the second best selling cellphones in the world, and he talks to me about apple, who only sells 2 or 3 phones. I'm talking worldwide here ignorant. And by the way this message is not for all people, it's for people who are trying to make SE looks bad while SE is still at top! I just can't stand people who are pathetic. On the other hand, I respect people who are logical, reasonable and finally know what they are talking about.

SE FOR EVER!, 30 Nov 2009For all you pathetic people who are saying that SE is falli... moreThat rank won't guarantee the quality and the company's profit if they keep on abusing their fans,i was SE fan until w890 which has random auto restart feature, definitely one of of the worst phone.

And that rank won't avoid them from going down, keep it this way and they're dead soon.

For all you pathetic people who are saying that SE is falling or are dropping or all this nonsense. Just see the ranking of SE in the gsmarena site that includes millions of voters. SE is still second yes it is and it will remain like this. Unless this changes, or unless you have anything solid to talk about, please just sh*t up will ya!! All your talking about is rubbish. I don't care what you say I care about what I see! Seeing is believing and SE is still the second handset prefer ed by people worldwide after nokia. Truth hurts I know, so just live with it losers ;)

This problem in SE handsets is because of the UK contractors such as Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile installing their own software into the phones of SE

Buy Aino, Satio SIM-FREE UNLOCKED, the problem ISN'T in them!

i have had several sony phones and only 2 worked and then after a few months they messed up, sony must now be looking into the problems with all there handsets, by checking them not just throwing them on the van, i think though for myself i will steer well clear of any sony phone as i dont trust them anymore, as for samsung they got to sort out there battery problems i think my gold fish has more power lol

listen up there is no way that every companies cellphones are flawless..i dont know why SE got hated so much by some websites isnt that politics???
anyway the point is i got nokia's top nseries phone and believe me they are having a lot of bugs and poor battery timing some names are n97,n82,n95 and many..but they are not much hyped to say why???
but keep in mind like p1i was out it had bugs but gradually its almost userfriendly and 90% flawless so no mouth drop scene, they will surely fix that issue and im buying SE satio to see whether the problem is or some politics.take care all

                            SE-Insider - so blatantly true.

SE For Ever? Forget it. At the rate this is going, SE is going to be in liquidation before the end of '10. And this coming from an ex-SE fan. I bought a W980 for music purposes. It does ok, but I must admit, it will be my last SE because warranty won't be valid once SE is belly-up.

Moto is getting back in the game. SE though, the higher-ups are corrupt and have lost themselves in the illusion of money. Well I've got a message for them: You earn that money by the good-will and loyalty of customers, not by releasing over-priced, technologically late devices that can't even stay stable hardware and software wise!

Don't get me wrong, I ain't a SE basher. I used to be a SE fan-boy. It is just sad to see a once good company thinking it can make a profit by releasing such crap quality phones. It is even more sad to see some people are still 'loving' SE because of the K750 and W800 reign. Ok, they were mean phones, but they are from yesteryear - get over it fannies!

What are you talking about.....SE For Ever??

If anything GSMarena loves SE. They do a review on almost every device that SE releases, but they have to report the news, whether it's good or not.

This is nothing new for SE. My wife works at SE, & you don't even know half of how bad things really are there.

Their phones always have some kind of problems associated with them. Be it hardware, or software, it is always something. From keypads that break on the W580, or the stylus port on the Xperia X1, bugs in the K850, & now the Aino & Satio to name several.

When is the last time you heard of Motorola, LG, or Samsung or even Nokia for that matter, have a mass recall of some type? It doesn't happen. SE is too anxious to properly beta test their phones for any kind of defects. They just want the money, hence their insanely high launch price for a new mobile.

They are digging their own grave, kinda like what Moto did for a while with all their RAZR rehashes, but Moto is back now, & will be #2 or #3 by the end of Q4 2010....you wait & see.....& SE??..they will be dead last.

                                Dear luke,

If you have noticed better, Gsmarena always shows the bad side of SE, I swear to god that they are biased toward samsung its so obvious. Many other members of this site are beginning to realize that its true. I just don't understand why does gsmarena do this? Honestly to samsung pay you or something? Because all of us know that samsung likes to play dirty.

this issue has revealed how many people really hate SE and want se to close.
that is not in favour for customer.
SE close means 2 or 3 companies will dominate the market
means less ideas, less design innovation, less competition, less customer satisfacation

As I am working for Vodafone in Greece, I can say that we had no returns or complaints about those 2 phones; on the contrary the customers are coming back with the best critics. They encountered the half-touch UI of Aino with some scepticism, as we also did in-store of course, but after all, they accepted it as-is and now it seems that the market is stabilizing for holidays. To be honest, I believe that this has to do with provider-specific firmware, and we have to wait until the Vodafone Live or Vodafone 360 versions hit the market (speaking for VF Greece). Until then, both phones are doing just fine in all aspects!

sorry S.E but you need to seriously beta test all phones before launch.

The AINO has NOT been recalled! Its simply a rumour. I work for CPW and there is absolutely no talk of an AINO recall.

The phone is a very very good phone, with excellent features and a very low return rate, and there would be no reason for it to be recalled. We have confirmed this with our SONY reps, who have no idea where the rumour has come from.

Touch is great, and opera on it works like a charm with kinetic scrolling. 2 of the 4 members of staff in our store have them, and are more then happy with the phones.

Irresponsible journalism has created this rumour, and unfortunately GSM have let themselves down by posting this without any factual proof.
