Anonymous, 30 Nov 2009UI still not up to scratch with iPhone OS. Developer base ... moregood luck with backwards compatibility...lol. Thats like making a game that runs on a core i7 w/ Geforce gtx295 AND make it run on the millions of customers who only have a Pentium w/ a 3DFX card...yeah, that'll work

LOL!
For God's Sake get a life all of you! I mean literally on every forum i go, all you people(most of you) do is compare the i-phone with any touchscreen phone that comes out and then start saying Nokia copied the i-phone well guess what HECK NO THEY DIDN'T!
Can't you all just understand that if Nokia,Samsung,Sony,Htc,etc., make a touch screen phone, it doesn't have to be a copy of the iphone!
The i-Phone isn't at all bad I have used it and as per my concern its main selling factor are the number of apps that are offered which make it a fun phone but that doesn't make it any better or worse then other touch phones...
As per the 5800, its just a simple, yet decent SYMBIAN phone for music which is much easier to use but not as fast or smooth mainly because of the touch resistive screen.
I have had both and believe me, both of them are good where they stand
So Apple & Nokia FANBOYS ... PEACE OUT!
And please stop trying to prove that Apple is better then Nokia or Nokia is better then Apple... Both of them have their own positions in the market! Trust me they both are good according to your needs, if you want apps and games the i-phone MIGHT be a good choice but if your looking for music and sound quality, 5800 MAY be the way to go!

Personally I don't care about your damn iPhone. I much prefer my smartphones to multitask, much like the N900! And please, having the music player and messaging function open at the same time is not multitasking!
And don't even try pull the "You know nothing you haven't tried an iPhone" on me, I had one for over a year, jailbroken too, and have found much more joy in my N97.
Some people just don't want iPhone's! Is that so hard to understand!?

Deep space bar, 01 Dec 2009So you think everyone uses multitouch since they have an ip... more"So you think everyone uses multitouch since they have an iphone XD your joke man 10% is the actual factor man.no one pinches to zoom, they tap and most of the games are accelorometer games so you fail by just responding, your just angry cause the iphone does suck and you wasted lots of money on it since you had to buy apps that were missing features and wait 2years for copy and paste and lanscape keyboard typing
And 3.5' screen is not widescreen looser
My 5800 which is 3.2' plays back the widescreen ratio which is 16:9 so who got lied too.....you and the millions of people that thought the iphone has the widescreen ratio"
Well you obviously don't have an iPhone because not all apps are accelerometer. Only racing games and such. Games like first person shooters require 2 fingers or thumbs on the screen at once, one to move, the other to shoot or something like that. And I'm pretty sure people would want to pinch and zoom, it allows more acuracy and gets the zoom where you want it. Double tap just zooms in to fit in the screen what ever you double tap. Thats only useful sometimes. (Wait a minute, did you just make up that people double tap more often because your 5800 doesn't have multi-touch and because of that you use double tap??? Lol...)
Haha sure mate, I didn't waste alot of money, I actually work so I get money. Copy and paste and such are already present in the 3.0 firmware, no apps needed to add those functionality. Yes it's missing features but now it has them.
Also you are a very ignorant person who doesn't read (your bain must operate at a very low capacity seeing as you can't even comprehend the meaning of the advertisement). "Widescreen IPOD". ARE YOU BLIND?? DO YOU SEE THE "IPOD"?? It means it's the IPOD WITH THE WIDEST SCREEN. Not that it is 16:9 or whatever widescreen. Just means that out of all the iPods, it is the one with the widest screen. Read before you type. Not to mention, the screen size has absolutely no play in determining whether it is widescreen or not, it's a pure diagonal measurement and thats that.
Now before you reply, especially about the widescreen bussiness, I'd advise you to read. Also, if you're going to make up facts, at least show a proper attempt in justifying them... Lol.

Anonymous, 02 Dec 2009"that is uncorrect, there is an USB charger for Nokia phone... more”Really don't / can't understand your point. Why can't simply combine both data transfer and charging in the same cable?”
When doing this you strain the battery, and thats not good.
”If the almighty brand is suppose to be the "leader of innovation", why is it "copying" features of iphone, such as "touchscreen"? (name me how many touchscreen device the almighty brand released BEFORE and AFTER release of iphone/3G)”
Back in 2004 Nokia had two touchscreen phones, on the global market. And in china they've had several of touchscreen devices, just to make text input easier.
And iPhone is far from the first touchscreen, and was far from the only one in the market, so what proof do you have that nokia is copying Apple? You have none, since they have not. The trend is in touchscreen mobiles. Iphone wasnt first, but is one of the manufactors that made touchscreens popular, just one of them, not the only one... HTC and LG beat them to the point on the market. And Samsung had announced a phone not many days after the first iPhone was announced, so it had to be in development before iPhone was announced. Neonode came before them all, when it comes to a screen being used as the input method for fingers and not styluses.
And since nokia had touchphones out there longbefore Apple... who is the copycat?
”If charging by data cable isn't that important, why all of the sudden the almighty brand decided to do so, after x years BEHIND Motorola and Apple?”
Apple still dont charge with a USB-cable, it charges via their data-cable which is USB compatible.
And Nokia has an adapter to charge of USB if your phone use Nokia charger plug, and not USB port as more and more of them do today. (that adapter came long before the iPhone)
USB is decided by the industry as a standard for charging, thats why everyone starts using it...but still Apple has not implemented USB-plug for charging, hasn't all other big manufactors released at least one phone with usb-port for charing? But Apple, still has not.
”Regarding the battery life, yes, the more often the battery is charged, the shorter life cycle it will have. Though how often do people buy new phones these days? Less than a year on average? (Of course, even my manager, who is a trendy person who used to switch phones every few months, is quite happy with her over 1-year old iphone, and she got new battery with the warranty)”
No, most people have their phones for much more than a year... Besides, warranty for batteries are mostly 3-6 months, not a year.
And when getting an iPhone, most sign up for a contract for more than a year.
Besides many people who used to switch phones often stayed with the N95 for long, since it implemented so much technology in one device. And in winMob departent HTC has relased many phones that make useres feel they dont have to upgrade as often as they used to.
So apple is not the only manufactor to produce model that has made model-switchers stay for more than a year.
”My manager charges her iphone via USB cable in the office...no extra plug is needed, and if you ever travel, you probably would appreciate even more if a phone can be charged while you're working on your laptop...without taking the extra electric outlet. (think about where can you get the extra outlet in an airplane, airport, or in a hotel where the country uses a different plug?)”
Ok, but your manager either has to bring the data-cable with her, or get an extra. If Apple had put an USB-port on the iPhone, then you could say it was practical cause she wouldnt even have to buy an extra cable... cause most people already have USB-cables. In the end Apples solution is not that much better than the Nokia usb to charger-plug.
”A friend of mine got a 5800 earlier this year, which I believe was released AFTER iphone 3G, and I asked my friend "can you charge your phone via USB?" He said "NO"”
with the usb-charger adapter he can very much do that. Still can either Apple 3G or 3Gs charge with a USB-plug or do you need a Apple data-cable to do that?
Still I said that its not practical to put 2 usb-port on a phone, and that the best compromise at this moment is using the same port for charging and data-transfer. But how many USB-ports does the iPhone have? None, it only has a USB compatible port... sure, it can be used for charing, but you need an special iPhone/iPod cable.
So what is your point actually?

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2009that is uncorrect, there is an USB charger for Nokia phones... more"that is uncorrect, there is an USB charger for Nokia phones that does not charge off the USB-port. Its an USB connector at one end, and nokia charger plug at the other end. So what you mean is that it does not charge over the data-cable.
And Apples solution for charging with USB sucks, since its not an standard USB-port. No where near the solution Motorola has had for years.
Charging via datacable is not all good. When the device use a mini or micro USB-port, you are more likely to stumble across a charger or USB cable, when you dont have your own with you. Thats very practial, indeed.
But, charging the phone everytime you connect it to the computer is not that good. It will strain you battery, and its lifetime will be shortened (unless you only connect your phone when the battery is low and you need to charge the device, anyway).
The only solution for this is not that practial, it would be to have 2 usb-ports on the device, one which is used for charging and/or data-transfer, and one only for data-transfer. So I guess the best compromise is the solution used by most manufactors today, a mini or micro USB-port... its even about to become a standard.
But Apple has yet to implement this.
So in the end, Apples solution is not at all better than nokias, on those phones.
(now many nokias charge with USB-connector, and the N900 is one of them)"
