That guy that discovered this 'bug' had Super Mario Bros. For that game, NDS emulator is needed, NDS emulator and any other in general are powerful packs of coding, in his case, emulator forced screen rotation so extremely, Maemo is adaptive which raises chances even more. After all, this mode wouldn't be available if it wouldn't exist. Nokia plays up with its fans, they thinked to release patch later, so it be like they made new step and like they supply users with support. So lame, poor those that buy this handset(it's not bad one). Maemo should have been gaven to SE, they make good quality phones but lack greater OS, it's clear that they could handle it better, just look what they done with crap symbian. Samsung got bada, LG kicks on its own, HTC rules WM and Android, iPhone has its own OS, Palm and RIM its own either, only Nokia and SE are left behind, with Nokia taking lead toward self destruction at 1st. Well, try to make super giant bubble and one smaller, which one will blow 1st? Bigger of course, Nokia overgrown, but now can't handle its own production, strugling to survive. The only Nokia I ever like is Morph, the rest are trash. HTC and Berry all the way.

Tansen, 30 Nov 2009Funny how the iPhone seems to permeate throughout all other... morewe here about iPHONE in every forum because Apple pays there employees to post here. They effectively shout down opposing opinions by a constant stream of posts. It makes most comment forums useless. I'm so sick of it...
I personally have no use for for large two hand operated multimedia computers by any manufacture. There screen will need to stretch to around 180mm to become useful. Think of a LG BL40 big brother with a slide/fold out qwerty keyboard.
I much prefer metal bodied 6 series devices that do there core jobs of voice communications great anywhere. 6300 ==> 6500 ==> 6700. Too bad there not sold in USA until they have been available in the rest of the world for over 1 year.

Funny how the iPhone seems to permeate throughout all other forums... Capacitive touch is widely regarded as superior to resistive touch for sensitivity and of course multitouch. Resolution is unrelated to touchscreen technology. iPhone is the most efficient in terms of os and interface: some WM phones have 1ghz processor and still lag. Explain that. N900 is nice, but in terms of iPhone killing, most phones lose sight of what makes the iPhone what it is. In any case, I look forward to seeing this thing in action.

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2009Actually capacitative is cheaper because it has no precisio... morefunny that you make these comments on the iphone screen which is widely regarded to be one of the best ever in terms of sunlight legibility and colour range. I do agree though that the battery life is shocking

The IPhone is not even the same league as the N-series?Why are you even comparing Iphone to N-series? Forget N-series, Iphone is not even in the same league as Nokia midrange Classic series. My sister has a iPhone, i will tell you that it not a bad phone, it's a ok phone but it's extremely overrated and nowhere near worth the price you have to pay, both in money and specs. I was in New York last month and the absolute truth is that all 14 year old kids, gucci woman with chihuahuas and asian exchange students have Iphones, the rest have Blackberries.

This portrait mode is a SOFTWARE GLITCH!
Plenty more software problems where this came from....
I can see this handset being just as bug ridden as a true N series.

american are ar*seho, 30 Nov 2009oh just shut ur hole iphone nerd.............................. moreExactly. The iPhone isn't even *remotely* in the same league as the N900. My 2-year old N82 has more features than the original iPhone. The iPhones are not in the same league as the N-Series.

Actually capacitative is cheaper because it has no precision at all colurs are bad and the resolution is not even half as the one of N900.
As for cortex A8 what does iphone do with it? record vga, play games and barely last half a day?
Imagine how primitive the software is if that's all it does AND requires 600mhz to do it! :))))
No thanks, we have VGA video recording since 2005 without cortex A8.
And yeah, chech this out if you have second thoughts!

N900 phone is coming with lots of goodies but when comparing with much hyped fone of a deacade thats IPHONE. I have a iphone what is the biggest drawback i felt is to text msg or to saved any new contact whenever in such situation i simply avoid or feel like throwing this phone away .. its only good for music n games . n rest its literally a disappointment.. have my words. N900 will going to rock ..with a new hope in coming generation

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2009Nokia's put a resistive screen on it to try and save money ... moreActually N900 is far cheaper than iPhone, it's only 560$ sim-free compared to iPhone that is atleast 800$ sim-free.
Last but not least N900 is a true smartphone compared to iPhone that is nothing more than average.
Check out why:

Nokia's put a resistive screen on it to try and save money for putting a Cortex A-8 in the handset.
iPhone has Capacitive screen AND Cortex A-8 and it costs less!

UI still not up to scratch with iPhone OS.
Developer base will be no match for Apples AppStore.
Same CPU/GPU as iPhone 3gs, 6 months behind Apple.
In the mean time, iPhone 3,1 has been spotted, with a suspected Cortex A-9 core.
