I don't know but why android users are always assume that moving to android will drive a phone company into success, its like their main set always say android is a key, android is such a laggy lame OS, I know android is a "paradise" of apps but the apps itself are junks! So change your main set! If the company work harder then they will reach their success!

Microsoft bought nokia, and now microsoft lay off ex-nokia employees are different decision because of different CEO! Nadella thought that nokia acquisition doesn't affect their mobile business, so what's the use of ex nokia employees in Microsoft, so nadella saves microsoft with this decision and making their phone on their own

Anonymous, 08 Jul 2015Microsoft made a lot of baaaad decision. First, they start ... moreYour are right. WP7 has more restriction like Iphone but it not what MS want but those think are not developed in initial stage of OS. All those BT,Extendable mem, etc have been added in WP 8/8.1. I think you are bashing just by using WP7 and not aware whats available in WP 8.1. There is lot of app available and youtube, y dont you use many third party free app instead of complaining.

Who said Lumia phone business is not doing well. its still a profitable business but with profit in million for MS which is opposed to other business whether they are getting profit in billion. Look at there annual report. Its not just US is only country in the world there is lot of country where WP is second ahead of IPhone with more than 10% share.

I feel bad for those 7800 employee who going to be fired. Lumia is great device and I love it. MS should fire the marketing team who failed to market the amazing product instead of people who created it which is ridiculous. Satya ideology of Service only co. having trouble here.

This is wrong. The Microsoft Phone is way better than the iPhone or the Samsung. I am a business analyst who is so proud of my windows phone because windows phone can go to wifi broadcast in one easy step. There is no jail breaking required. My windows phone my little lumia flicks on to wifi broadcast in an instant -- so what that means for me as a remote worker is that I can work from my car, any car, any cab, I can work while I am in transit from any place and it holds my VPN with my employer.
Very cool. My analyst friends with iphones have to go to McDonalds when their wifi gets disabled by lightening.
I don't. I have it on my moble as a back up. Very cool for Windows phone. don't know why they did not market this feature better.

They now want to make less Windows Phone and let OEMs make more phones because currently Microsoft Lumia has something like 97% marketshare on Windows Phone. They possibly let OEMs have more control in Windows 10 mobile to differentiate from one another. The reason OEMs are pushing Android because Android allows them that but the experience is mostly not as good as Microsoft and Apple when they have full control of the OS.

A part form is Microsoft invest in Mobile phone. I think Microsoft shall focus Window phone and develop software than develop smart phone. Microsoft already buy Nokia factory in Vietnam but lay off many employee. Moreover Microsoft don't take care about employee law.. I don't like Microsoft produce smart phone

Yeah..... than better Nokia move away and independently to assemble the device join the Android / Google following in the footsteps Blackberry, certainly better because in android, nokia will inherit symbian style again and will certainly be able to profit big.

If just WP take on what is already in WM6.5 and convert it into modern environment, WP might not be as bad as it is now. By trying to go against what users like, MS severely punished. MS the stubborn .

It took LESS than 3 years to devalue Nokia, lay-off most of the workforce at that time and sell the remainder to Microsoft (while cashing a big fat bonus and retrieving a nice position at Microsoft). And then another LESS than a year to lay-off the remaining ex-Nokia employees.

All from that company that created the richest man on earth, who does "charity" as a hobby, but can't protect the welfare of his employees.

                                        THIS IS DISGUSTING!!!
