People are already saying it's the best, yet NO ONE and I repeat NO ONE on here has actually used it yet, even in Beta form... It might be complete junk for all we know, or offer holographic pop up images giving 3D reality... Never know.

Bada will coexist with current OS's that Samsung is currently using, such as WM, Android and LiMo. (Some says that Samsung will not use Symbian anymore)
Also, some says there is possibility that Bada is placed over another OS's, as a platform, allowing the phone to run both Bada and WM/Android/LiMo apps. Not confirmed.

Wait and see.
If Samsung is serious about the Smartphone wars, they need to invest HEAVILY into the OS. They should have called it Ocean.

Why a new OS?
Well, this OS is meant for "standard" samsung phones. Sure, developer has to make applications... BADA might not be the OS with the most applications. But sure you will get a lot more than today. And a lot more advanced applications.
Think about it this way.
What does Samsung jet miss? Applications and advanced applications. Same goes for Pixon 12
Almost all manufactors would gain of introducing their own "basic" smartphone OS.
Imagine LG Crystal, with that multitouch control panel (the keyboard), it has a lot of potential, but because of the OS, no programmers can make use of it, what if it run an OS like BADA, then anyone could unlock the potential.
Look at the LG BL40, looks really cool, but the new aspect ratio of the screen could make it a really cool smartphone. But its not.
Those Watch phones out there, they run standard os, but if they would run smartphone OS, a bluetooth GPS (or built in), could turn the watchphone into a training partner. And users could download really cool startpages giving the watch a lot of cool looks.
The SE Aino, what does it lack, full touch UI. With an OS like bada users could have unlocked that feature... that would have made the Aino so much better.
So if you just think about it for a moment, BADA is a really good thing.

still missunderstandings here.
BADA os, is a basig OS, for "standard" phones. But the OS has smartphone capabilities.. It will do what a smarphone does, but Samsung is not leaving all other smartphone OSes for BADA.
Its not suppose to be cool and filled with effects, its suppoed to be basic and run on lower end devices. Cool effects would require a lot of the hardware.

Yay, happy to read that bada will be available cheaply not on out of reach expensive devices, like symbian!!!
I hate winmo and android etc, they're just so expensive.I also hope bada has 16M color support, else it will be a step back rather than forward, as i doubt the os being customizable so much. it will prob be like apple iphone os, which is very childish... that's what i think at least.!!!!!!!!!!!!

what did you expect.
they did the same thin... more*anonymous and outsider
I want to mention that the Samsung Jet have big functionality, of course. But the problem is that if u looking more in the details of all these functions there are many lacks. The system needs more Options. So that means we need Apps to get more productivity. Now the main problem is there arent one. I knew it before i bought the Jet but no one could expect that samsung wont create Apps for this device.Me not too.
Samsung want to release with the Jet a device which has many Features what many people need. But the most of the people arent looking for the software. I mean when it hasnt open source then samsung should be more responsible to deliver more Apps for his customers.
I want to express also that samsung change every 2 years the direction of the OS. I agree outsider here. If they would fix there OS and would develope and improve it to better one that would be good project. Nokia using Symbian since many years and are working on this OS all the time. That the reason why they have many Apps for Symbian because the system code is every time the same only the UI is more changing.
I dont want continue to compare them both because both have good and bad sides. But me would really interest if the Bada OS will be available for the old touchwiz devices like the Jet.

they did the same thing to omnia hd
Samsung is releasing mobile like no other company but hey they just want you to buy samsung phones so they can collect mega cash,
it would be the same if they released phones without a battery covers or even phone shell.
whats the point in releasing so many phones. well MEGA CASH
i will never EVER never buy f Samsung anymore.
watch and see watch and see and you will see that when bada comes out even after one year of bada release it would be the same as now.
