Neither Apple nor Samsung invented nor coined the word 'Plus'. Not any of the phone makers did. But Samsung wasn't the first to use Plus on phones (repeat 'phones', before smartphones)

i have the s6 edge i like it very much and got almost no problems only the RAM bug
i hope samsung will fix it soon cause it is really annoying
if i understand it right there will be almost no differences between the s6 edge and the s6 edge+ only that the screen is bigger
and the note 5 would have an snapdragon 808 processor i compared it to the exynos 7420 processor and the results are strange the exynos 7420 wins from the snapdragon 808
why would samsung release an newer phone with a older processor?

Back then the 'Plus' denotion is meant for a modified or alter Samsung smartphone to be better than it previous predecessor within a few months of time span. Now, the denotion is used to indicate screen size. However, Samsung use the symbol '+' instead of 'Plus' to differentiate what they are doing. It is the same way they did with 4G LTE and LTE-A.

While apple's "plus" definition is of a bigger screen of the regular iphone. In this case, people are blaming samsung for copying because of the same reason of using the "plus" definition as apple, as in having a bigger edge screen (but in this case, they are releasing an inferior processor)
