Stondec100, 05 Aug 2015I'm really looking forward to this processor. Maybe it wil... moreYou must not have used the 7420 or even the 5433 then. And if you did, then you're objectively unreliable.

I'm really looking forward to this processor. Maybe it will power the Samsung Galaxy Note 6, since I likely won't the buying the worthless Note 5 as the rumors appear to be true (about no IR blaster, non-removable 3000mAh battery, no microSD support, no IP68 certification, no USB 3.1 with type C connector).
Exynos processors are terrible without exception in my experience. They start out running smoothly, then later begin to lag like a spastic, whereas Qualcomm processors without exception have run smoothly though the lifespan of my devices. Too bad Qualcomm screwed up the 810. Hopefully they get the 820 right.

Quad core still overheats.. The 800 I know overheats in my nexus 5 occasionally and the 805 in the nexus 6 also gets rather toasty. If the 80,000 + scores in antutu are to be believed I just can't see any phone with snapdragon 820 in not getting rather hot at some point.

They improve only Hi-end SoC's not entry and mid class. There is huge difference between low-mid and high variants.
For example, Snapdragon 410 has Adreno 306 which almost same as 305 and almost adreno 225, Snapdragon 615 contains Adreno 405 which is nearly equilavent with Adreno 320 (a bit slower), Snapdragon 808 bundled with Adreno 418 which is nearly Adreno 330, may be a bit faster. And top model 810 has Adreno 430 wich is real killer with optimized system it could beat even iphone 6's PowerVR GX6430 in some conditions also similar to T760MP8.
See the difference?
If your device has SD615 your game playability is limited, nothing to say about SD410...
Fare combination should be : Adreno 405 for SD410, Adreno 418 for SD615 and Adreno 420 for SD808
Yeah but Qualcomm certainly won't do that and Mediatek playing around with weak G6200 and Exynos out of class (Only for sammy bussiness).
Now we only one hope for now...
New Huawei Kirin series, I'm expecting really fatal killers...
Mali T880MP4 for entry, MP8 for mid and MP12 for Hi-end class...
Who knows, some dreams becomes true.

AnonD-361328, 05 Aug 2015Why snapdragon 820 is quad core and not octa core?????? Because they ditched ARM's big.LITTLE architecture which turned out to be problematic for them. Both octa-core Snapdragons are pretty hot.

Doesn't signify much, as the 810 was never using all 8 cores combined, it toggled between the two sets of 4 cores depending on the load (and it was the high power A57 cores overheating). However, the 810 used stock cores. Going back to custom cores like before should theoretically make their CPUs behave like they did before the 810, and that's what they're doing with the 810. I'll take 4 high power, yet massively scalable cores over a big.LITTLE configuration any day.

Concerning you genius' who think the 820 will have overheating issues.
The 810 is octa core. The 820 will be quad core.
Get it?
