After the uber-crap that X1 was (which by the way I've spent 500 euros 6 months ago and now I'm caught in a 2 year contract with Vodafone) no way I'm gonna do the same mistake and spend another 500 euros on X2. 1k for Windows Mobile is just too much. So, people, my advice, just wait a couple of months and see how stable and reliable is X2 going to be. Don't make my mistake and run to the first store to buy it. Being a beta tester for Sony Ericsson on your own money is not so pleasant.

It is simple really, if you do not like the phone don't buy it. You do not need to bad mouth it either as you have probably not even used it. I have HD2, Iphone (rarely used but I keep it as I consider it iconic) but the real baby for me will be the X10. Not all phones are perfect, by the way I am using the Milestone at present as it was a Xmas prezzy and the camera is so poor it is disgraceful and makes it less than what it could have been. Nevertheless, it has its good points which is not so much the hardware but the android interface.

I am sure most people would welcome constructive criticism but all the negativity is pointless. Without practical hands on knowledge, your views/opinions are less than worthless.....REALLY!

and still you went after and after for SE... :P
thats the power of SE. Once you use it, you get addicted to it.

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2010im sorry sir you have no idea what you are talking about. t... moreu hvnt a clue wat ur talking about
this is the list of se phones i owned and what went wrong:
                - t68i joystick problems, got fixed
                - p800 battery probs, changed battery but screen didnt respond
                - p910i keyboard broke, got new p910 and didnt hv problems with that 1
                - k750 joystick problems, got fixed
u dont tell me that se is superior quality than others cos thats a lie.

and then at least moto were able to put something together unlike se which constantly makes us w8 for average phones that r overpriced. google made the software and moto made the hardware. its basically the same thing se is doing but adding a ui which is less practical than no ui. moto has multitouch and isnt as cpu intensive cos they kept it simple. they sold about 250k phones in america alone in the 1st week. something se can only do with the help of fanboys bcos most ppl r smart enuf to know that se phones r a rip off. a good example: pureness.

at least in the past se had good specs compared to the competition but now they give u average-good quality specs several months after it shud hv been released at a premium price. if u wna support the inefficiencies se has go ahead. i know i wont. if u think se is so good u cud hv given me facts about y they r so good but u only present opinion. the fact is they r not in the top 3 phone makers, combined with specs other companies can also offer u means there is no reason they r any better than the rest. the word of a fanboy is useless so i dont care wat u say in response to this.

oh and btw, google isnt a computer company. they hvnt built a computer yet. and u think i dont know what im talking about? lol

Same old and slow cpu, small screen, not finger friendly size, same ram, onyl 256mb. This is x1.1, not x2. This company is a joke, HTC HD2 much more better.

                      ............
every thing is clear here->same hardware new design actually it's what x1 should have been:) hope it doesn't have any build quallity issues.
so if you like it go for it

I copied this before and since people are saying little too much I thought I will re-copy some words from a person who actually hold this handset for a while.

I can say a lot on my own too based on what I have been seeing, knowing differences of targeted market, differences of user's requirements and so on but unless I will not use it myself I will not add too much. So read on.

"The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 that I received just yesterday. I’ve been playing with it for a little while and I’ve already started fancying it. As a matter of fact, I started considering getting one myself after just an hour with it. Scary, isn’t it? Truth be told, I like the improvements in Windows Mobile 6.5, the new XPERIA panels, improved speed and responsiveness, improved 3D graphics rendering, beautiful display, WVGA video recording and the TV-out feature (the cable even comes in the box!). In addition to this, it looks very nice and the keyboard feels excellent. The build quality is excellent. I hate to say this, as I was one of those very few who loved the keyboard on the X1, but the X2 keyboard probably beats it."

To be honest X10 is just as incomplete as X2.

What Sony Ericsson should be releasing right now should have been the form factor of X10 ie with keyboard, then add Android and a capacitive screen.

Palm has seen it with the Pre - the lack of keyboard is Apple's weak point, where they will lose out the high end and business customers. The X10 will fail to hit that spot and the X10 is lacking the better OS and capacitive screen to take advantage.

SE fans can buy today the NEW NEW (did i said NEW?) SE X2! It's the same processor, RAM and ROM! You know it, you like it! And best of all, it's a NEW model!

Until SE Are selling it themselves I will wait and see what the price is. When I looked at the seller they put the price up when I said I was in the UK. SE UK haven't been a great deal of help when asking them.

I am hoping for £450, any more than that and I don't think I will bother instead I'll keep the HD2 until I see something else I like.

X2 would have been almost the perfect phone, but no FM radio. Not interested, get something from Samsung or LG instead. SE does not have to do us any favors anymore.

what was se thinking? they didnt meet deadlines and now they start selling an expensive phone when other retailers r going on sale to get rid of unwanted stock. also its not much of an upgrade over the x1 either. look at this comparison:
                                    - screen: yes the x2 has a larger screen but if u consider dpi or ppi, x1 is better so the images that it can display on its screen are more crisp and vibrant than the x2s. both r resistive touchscreens.
                                    - memory: ram and rom r the same but winmo 6.5 is pobably more demanding so it shud lag more also considering the greater customizing se did with the ui.
                                    - connectivity: same maximum 3g speeds, almost identical wifi and bluetooth 2.1 instead of 2.0 but most phones/laptops use 2.0 so if u wna pair to other phones/laptops ur still only getting wat 2.0 has to offer.
                                    - camera: the main improvement. but if taking pictures is a priority 4 u then u wudnt buy a winmo phone which only displays 65k colors and other phones display 16mil with an amoled display and some hv a 12mpx camera lens. wat wud hv been a useful upgrade to a business user (the type of user most likely to buy this) is more ram and faster cpu.
                                    - extras: the x1 has a feature the x2 shud hv come with: the accelerometer. however, the x1 has a better battery life unless gsmarena made a mistake. the x2 lost the radio that the x1 had. i dont care about this but some ppl do for some reason. also build quality looks better on x1.

thats just comparing the x2 to x1. but the x2 faces more competition like the htc hd2, which has a capacitive touchscreen (better), supports multitouch, has a lot more ram (448mb compared to 256mb), hd2 has 2x the processing power (1ghz instead of 528mhz), and hd2 can be used as a wifi router, and it has other features which i dont find that important (like radio). also they cost about the same but the hd2 has been around for longer so y shud the consumer hv to w8 for the x2 cos where i live the x2 isnt coming out for at least another week.
im not impressed with x2 and neither shud u be. its just barely better than the x1 (which was built by htc) and when compared to the competition, it doesnt stand out.

--> if u want se to produce better phones, dont buy their current phones. when a company is desperate, thats wen they usually produce at their best. look at palm and motorola. the pre and the droid (and now even better rumored devices by them) were produced when every1 had given up on these companies producing something worthwhile. and then look at apple who sold iphones very well and as a result saw basically no need to change the iphone 3g when it came time for the next iphone, the 3gs.
