the only good thing with sony phones = waterproof design.. rest is just garbage... again glas metal backside ? havent they learn from all crack damaged backpanels so far ????? crazy....

But with the newly X-Reality Pro the... moreYes, it means 99% of everything you do with the phone, you'll be using 1080p, while still paying premium to get a 4k screen. Add the part where the current GPUs cant even do 1080p30 stable for the more demanding 3D games most of the time, and you have a pretty good combo for "useless innovation is useless".
On a side note, a screen with changing resolution? MAGICAL! #CRTmonitorsBeatYaToIt

i will stay with my iphone 5s unitil 2016,
my next smartphone muss have sd 820 or another 14nm process and usb -c ( it will be the futur standard usbport)
and ddr4 ram and i think sony is close enough. annnd goood optimisation.

Yes it use 4k display. But with the newly X-Reality Pro the screen will resize itself to 1080p res if you play a 1080p movie, and so on. Yep its brilliant. Means that it will not stretch the 1080p video to 4k. Nice.

Sony, whose industrial design is second to none, should learn from Apple: The tech specs do not matter, it is optimisation that does. A 4K display will mean sluggish performance and have little positive effect on text or video quality, as the human eye cannot perceive much less. Most importantly, their target buyers do NOT read books on their phone. Apple are stilling using lower res displays and yet selling millions of iPhones because they optimise the performance.
Sony would be way smarter to focus on making their devices more reliable and truly water resistant. To start, why not dispense with the microUSB port (why no USB C if at all?) and use wireless charging, so there is NO need for any ports. I have a Nexus 5 and 3 wireless chargers, and it's SO much more convenient and means no stress on the USB port. Great phone BTW, even if two years old now.

The larger premium device can probably dissipate the heat if properly engineered . Also its the 2.1 version of the chipset so it should be ok. The battery life is gonna suck if youre watching a movie at higher resolutions ...no way it lasts 2 days.
The only negative I have right now for this is ... wtf 3 gb ram ? everyone is using 4 ! and you call this a flagship ? They probably did this to save battery tbh...

If i am buying an expensive flagship, it must have USB C port!(heck all phs must have it) Because I would like to keep it for a couple years! So this is disappointing Sony because lesser newer ph makers have already started putting this brilliant ports on their phs!

While this promises to be a step ahead of the game with 4k display and 2days battery charge....i have a few problem with d post. It didnt make any mention of micro sd card and if the battery wud be swapable. And then theres the SD810...even if it doesnt heat the past xperiences have made people to stay away from anything SD810 even when it doesnt heat. Samsung should release their exynos to other brands. They would make tons of cash.
