Anonymous, 18 Jan 2010dont judge it now until the final version is out
if the ... moreThere is nothing "final" by nokia, and there is not going to be such 4'th OS at all!
The nokia touch screens are 5'th edition, the maemo is v.5, and if anything is going to be enhanced on symbian, than is going to be 6'th edition and nothing like that 4'th??
I guess this is fake propaganda, to push nokia to talk out, if they are hiding something.

I think this pictures is not from symbians, maybe it's provocations from "others" fearing nokia developing something in secret and may ruin their business selling their own devices, because this pictures have symptoms of WinMo like back button and menu button is on the top of the screen, otherwise if symbian really develops OS vision like WinMo, than nokia or symbian lovers will run away for other devices in two or three month time...!

grifs, 16 Jan 2010They have copied the iPhone once again, that Photo gallery ... moreKodak are suing Apple (and RIM Blackberry) over the ability to "preview images on a portable device", not over some 3rd party App posted to the iPhone App Store.
(Did I spell that right- little "i", big fuss-over-nothing?)

Nokia is definitely an endangered specie.
The finns are getting sloppy, last drop for me was the OVI store - so many years in business and produce such a disaster?!!
they need to fire their design team, and scale back to 5 models. The whole portfolio of phones stinks.
they need to start producing programs for their phones...

andy burgin, 17 Jan 2010Nokia might trying to update there software, buts its there ... morecatching up with the touchscreen market? Did the almighty brand "choose" to play the catchup game? Why it chose "not" to release any touchscreen (3G) phone before the iphone (3G)?
I recall the almighty brand only released 2 (but hardly saw anyone used them) touchscreen (2G) phones b4 the iphone. After the iphone (3G), all of the sudden the almighty brand released at least half a dozen touchscreen phones (58xx, 5xxx, N97, N97 mini, ....)

i dont really see any real change.Same old symbian crap.all new new stuff can be done with a simple theme change.I dont get it.But then i dont really want to.Coz the fact is symbians and nokias are dead to me.they are things of the past.Sony erricson was the leasder of symbian for a long time.but since theyve had financial problems they have seized to amaze but yet maintaining their image and quality and that they never disappoint.Everytime nokia realeases an all amazing phone and makes a big fuss about it theres always other phones that are way better.Story of nokia--->they realease a new awesome phone...i seem to like it.then i try it out and its absolutely the same stuff.come on what happened to innovation.like n97 was supposed to be the ultimate phone. Not really.nothin extra except for the memory.n900 maemo's stronget point was multitasking and they went on and on about how revolutionary it is but please it doesnt even look that good.try using WM 6.5 or android. Now that looks good feels good and is quite a nice change and offers a lot more options.i bet you to try an omnia II or an htc touch diamond or an HTC HD2.feel the difference. They dont go on and on about it.All i know is that Nokia is a bad deal unless ur just looking for a phone. But if ur lookin for a smartphone or a multifunctional gadget,ur better off looking elsewhere.long story but ive been tryin to give nokia a break.as it seems i held back for way too long

Nokia might trying to update there software, buts its there phones they have to update if they want to keep way ahead of the others,as they seem to be losing touch nowdays since the N95,we have seen nothing really outstanding from Nokia, they seem to be catching up more in the touch screen market but in the other markets losing touch, the camera one seems were Nokia have got alot of catching up to do,as all see is a 5 mega-pixel one on nearly every mobile,an we do want to see Nokia do the same again with there next supposed be Top Class camera mobile use one of there old mobiles an just upgrade it like the did with the N86 an used the old N85 body, hope in 2010 we do see something outstanding from Nokia at last

hey what the hack...i've been waiting and waiting for a nokia 'ultimate phone' but it seems that when a good nokia phone comes out like the n900, other brands like the htc come out with way to0 advanced phones, just look at the touch diamond 2! its resolution is as high as the overrated n900 and htc didn't even make a fuss out of it like nokia did. and funniest thing was that n900 had to take till novermber to release it!
bet that this phony phone will not even get a glinch to the hd2, just look at the gallery screen-shot. my god the same old crap...dont even want to see a screen shot of how the music player or list will be...

if you ask me i'd say the hell with Symbian! there's no room for symbian between the Android and WM and ... now a days every little company trying to make touch screen phones and symbian is no good with touch screen and it has an ugly UI compare to many other Operation Systems. i don't why some brands like Nokia really stuck with Symbian when they can do much better with other OSes? (of course i can't count much on Nokia cause it's not a great brand on my opinion)
Rest In Peace Symbian!
