Samsung failed to develop a silky skin. He develop a new OS tizen to compete Google Android but failed again... Made Exynos processor to complete Qualcomm but again failed.. Made high performance SD card bt Failed. Now this time another effort to patch thier failure .. ðŸ˜

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2015Yes.QHD and you have 4 GB on your laptop?!
Unless they are ddr4, I think you need to increase them to 8 GB at least.

Samsung touchwiz is very light, use S6 and you will know. It has 3 gb ram, less than Note4 but it's touchwiz is very light than Note4. Use it and you will know the difference. I have both of them.

^ ^, 09 Sep 2015With 6 gb ram, you can use apple to drive you to pluto in l... moreThe new Apple ipad Pro is using 4gb ram. It still on Earth and not even flying to the moon. Laggy IOS. Even use Samsung 14nm architecture processor. I would like to see Apple fanboy try to fly with their ipad pro to Mars. Go ahead. We waiting.

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2015"it only means you can have more apps in the backgroun... moreYou wont "completely eliminate loading times" because the delay is often due to downloading data from the web and RAM is cleared every time you reboot.
I can store dozens of apps in the 3GB RAM on my Note 4, I'm not saying that there is no point to 6GB of RAM, its just strange to be pushing for more RAM while reducing storage and getting rid of SD cards at the same time.

How does *completely eliminating loading times* is an "only"? It means that you suddenly have the fastest phone in existence.
That doesn't mean that Samsung should have killed the replace-able battery/SD, obviously. But if they make one *good* decision (have a phone where everything is cached on Ram) they should be praised...

nelrock, 09 Sep 2015On most OS, more RAM means you can run heavy app that need ... moreThat's a Linux thing, not an android thing, educate yourself.
It's also why Linux/android can become much faster merely using the spare ram. It's called disk-caching look it up.
So unless you get ... aroused by the sight of a big amount of "free ram" , actually having less of it is a good thing. Free ram is wasted ram. Android and Linux machines use it for caching, that's a *good* thing, not "unfortunate".
Why would you prefer to have 1-2 GBs (for example) that goes literally unused? That's why in Androids you rarely see less than 500 MB of Free Ram... It lets things being kept on the background.
Try to do the same with an iphone. By the time you'd have the 5th tab open everything would start to redraw, which is why call iphone the smoothly looking lag machine. Because it redraws everything eventually. My 4GB phone (never does, everything is cached in memory), it's *fast* even when it does not feel as smooth...

AnonD-77443, 10 Sep 2015Isn't it obvious what point he is trying to make? Upgrading... moreYes, it seems the flame wars got the best of me this time :D I understood his point, it was the attitude ("unneeded invention", who talks like that) that pissed me off. Anyway, Samsung are developing a graphene-silicon battery we should see next year, so I think everything is going as it should.
Plus, we got USB Type C for faster charging. There's a lot of research going on now in the battery compartment, if you look around you'll see it. On the software side, Android 6 has Doze which should double battery life

[deleted post]Isn't it obvious what point he is trying to make? Upgrading to 6GB is ok but the benefits are minimal (it only means you can have more apps in the background for fast access). On the other hand Samsung is reducing battery sizes, removing removable batteries, reducing internal storage and removing micro SD cards. These items make a massive difference to a lot of users (and are the reasons i am not downgrading my Note 4 to the Note 5).

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2015Because dear Watson, Androids Memory management is absolute... moreMake it better or at the very least enlighten yourself with how it works and then comment... Plus, I am with a very old 512MB RAM SE Arc S with Jelly Bean 4.1 - I have Facebook, Messenger, Browser, all that stuff. Sure sometimes it lags but it's expected for such a device and old Android :) I think you get the point - your argument is invalid...

nelrock, 09 Sep 2015On most OS, more RAM means you can run heavy app that need ... moreAnd what's wrong with having more apps sitting in RAM for quicker opening? I have no issue with increasing the RAM but do not get why Samsung is removing SD Cards AND reducing the internal storage to 64GB. This is the main reason I am not upgrading my Note for the 4th time.

On most OS, more RAM means you can run heavy app that need large amount of memory.
But in Android, more RAM just means more apps to run in BACKGROUND, and that's not nice.
It doesn't matter if you have 6GB RAM, half of it will be used by Android to cache/run apps in background.
If you don't believe me, just run SystemPanel and see how many cached apps on your phone memory.

Vito1, 09 Sep 2015but why is 4 GB RAM is not sufficient???Linux/Android is not like iOS/Windows ... sufficiency is irrelevant.
Having more RAM (in those systems) means having everything preloaded on Ram which means everything reacts muuuch faster. Basically more RAM = a free performance upgrade *at all times*.
Even upgrading the CPU would matter less than that. So yeah 4GB is not enough, nor is 6, nor is 8, nor is 256 as a matter of fact. The more RAM the better (in linux based machines), at all times...

All you cowards posting anonymously are just wasting comment space. What have you invented lately in your basement? Samsung has lead the way in mobile technology and innovation for some time now. It's a company who creates the technology used in so many phones, open your damn phone and tell me there are no Samsung innovated components, I dare you.
