I am absolutely shocked by how much that thing sucks.
I assumed it would be useless, but at least expected some kind of nice surprise new idea from apple.

what ever limits you on iPod Touch same goes to this. Example no flash support, support of movie format is poor, and for that kind of price i can buy 2 unit of netbooks. netbook like HP upcoming touch screen version can do much more then this. i'll just stick to my iPhone.

I was just listening to the CBC news in my way back home from work, they said it is expected to start selling in Canada around June 2010. They also said the price will range from 500 to 900 Canadian Dollars.
I am NOT planning to buy this thing, even though is not expensive.

Guys, I'm not telling you to buy one. As i said, I won't be buying one as I have a MacBook and an iPhone already, so don't really need one.
But watch the video on the Apple site to see JUST what this thing does.
It isn't perfect and it may not be necessary - but watch the video because a lot of these comments seem misinformed.

What a Useless piece of crap, why on earth would anyone want to spend close to $1000 for a devise that doesn't qualify to be a tablet computer. Seriously you can get any tablet pc that can do twice as much for half the price. I hope apple fails big time on this.

No flash but you can look at the site but Apple will basically negociate with several companies to build a app designated for their product cause it has no flash!Beautiful equipment but little purpose besides email, games, email, browsing the net but browsing only.

I really don't see how different this product is from the iTouch. I mean, it doesn't even run on Snow Leopard, so it's basically an enlarged iTouch. You can't multitask, there's no flash support for the web browser, and no USB ports.
So essentially, this device can't really fit under the "tablet PC" category.

no doubt its an amazing device both design (well its practically a blown-up iphone) and OS... i just hope a lot of people will buy it 'coz i think it's not easy to carry around, can you put it in your back like you can a laptop, and its virtual keyboard so its practically at best only good for email instead of helping you to edit documents, do a little work and all... its a "mobile" and "practical" era, and while iPad is mobile, it isnt practical.....i'm not a fan of anything, i just love superb practical devices... i've a macbook, an ipod, an android htc hero, etcc. but hopefully its a wrong guess...

you know what fails so bad about this iproduct it's apple's way of way of saying "ha ha we don't care how expensive it cause we know your gonna buy it from apple" and fail cause it come with a plan on AT&T lol
14.99 for 250Mb
and 29.99 for unlimited data
who really is apple to deside the price on data for a device......i thought it was the service provider......those greedy f*cks

Uesless, 100%. Faliur no. Apple is very good at presentation and promotion. Their target is not people who can DO things, their major target are normal and regular people who do not want or cannot do things so for them it will become great piece of technology because they don't know other alternates at this point, over it it has Apple's label on it so it will sale like good.
And soon developers made applications that will made everyone believe it is the history-maker.
However, I see it nothing more than over-grown and over-priced toy.
