Why are some of the comments here so negative? Why try to spin-off something positive into negative? Sure they don't sell like apple but how many companies out there are willing to support their midrange lineup as well as sony, I'm currently using xperia c3 and its already on 5.1.1, I'm not after that 6.0 because that's already pushing it for this handset but for it to be updated from 4.4 to 5.0.2 to 5.1.1 is already as testament of their customer support.

AnonD-5197, 01 Oct 2015OMG did they finally get their software right on their own ... moreYeah, that's quite a surprise. If they did, it was about time. But let's wait for the GSMArena review first.

But I do think it would possibly be better for everyone if there was some mergers and acquisitions among the less popular brands, which is probably more likely than shutting down.

FreezeGame, 30 Sep 2015Looking at the results, the Galaxy Note5 and S6/S6 Edge hav... moreHonestly I've been around long enough to know to ignore kids like you chanting 'the end is nigh' regarding Xperia. Heck people have been doom and gloom about Sony even before the Xperia X1. Still this one time, I'll bite.
The reality is that the Xperia division is doing very very good, with really positive cashflows and some year-over-year growth aswell despite Sony cutting back on the number of handsets it produces. You can look up Sony Mobile and Sony financial Statements yourself (at least I hope so).
But hey, don't let the facts get in your way, tell us more about how Sony's done for. >_>

Looking at the results, the Galaxy Note5 and S6/S6 Edge have a better camera than the Xperia Z5, as they score higher where it matters. The one point difference is insignificant.
In other news, Sony will continue to struggle in its mobile division, resulting in the loss of millions every quarter; a hit that Sony can't endure. After the failure of this year's Z5 lineup, and subsequently failing with next year's Z6 line of devices, Sony will bow out of the mobile space soon after.
Replies to my comment will read, "Do you know the future, expletive?" or "Hey, expletive, I guess you're some kind of prophet or time traveler?"
I'll respond now, rather than later. No, I don't know the future, nor am I either of those things. The fact is that Sony's pattern will remain the same. Not enough people care about what Sony does mobile phone wise, and haven't for years. The small amount of consumers who purchase its products will not be enough to sustain the division. Say your goodbyes now. Sony is done.

ithehappy, 30 Sep 2015So I guess now Sony has paid off DxO right?
Where are th... moreIn all fairness, although there is reason to believe this is indeed THE camera we've been waiting for, (at its time) DxO also used to rate highly (#1 if I recall correctly) the less than impressive camera that equipped the past generations (Xperia Z1 is my personal experience).
The Z1 did take amazing photos in good lighting... but things quickly take a turn for the worst in less than perfect conditions. Good camera, but nowhere near the top (like DxO used to state).

Finally Sony's camera is up to scratch and now beyond the competition to add to that! Hopefully their software isn't too aggressive with post processing but it's sad that RAW is not available still.
