AnonD-438854, 06 Oct 2015Why can't you people understand that it's not up to the OS ... moreThere are dual core phones and octa-core phones. If what you're saying is true then those apps wouldn't ever use more than two cores, but they do. In fact forget about providing a source, its clear you don't have one.

AnonD-442781, 06 Oct 2015I said provide a source for your statementsHow dense can people be. I AM ONE OF THE SOURCES!
As a CS graduate taking up my masters and consulting with my professors, I can say for certain that coding multi-threading applications and programs is not worth the time and effort when you can just code the same thing single-threaded! And that's not including debugging. I dare you to debug multi-threaded codes. I just dare you. Programmers and developers just don't bother with it.
Just google parallel programming and multi-threading problems so you can understand, PLEASE.

AnonD-352420, 06 Oct 2015It's Android, not Windows... There is a reason we have thos... moreWhy can't you people understand that it's not up to the OS to use the number of cores, but on the apps themselves. Apps are designed to run on virtually all devices, not just the octa core ones. This is why developers are pushing for more efficient single or dual core runtime codes so they run on all platforms, since it benefits them. The more users, the better.
Besides, using all those cores results in tremendous power draw. You want sources? Go ahead and check
http://www.anandtech.com/show/8718/the-samsung-galaxy-note-4-exynos-review/6
You want to use all your 8 cores? Sure if you want to draw more than 8W of power! Heck the Intel Core M series built for LAPTOPS only uses 4.5W at most. Good Luck with your battery boys.

Actually TSMC made half of the 6s/6s plus chip
By the way if you want to go that way, samsung wouldnt be anything without google in phone business.

AnonD-438854, 06 Oct 2015Oh for heaven's sake. The use of the number of threads and ... moreIt's Android, not Windows... There is a reason we have those multicore chips, because the fit the OS. Qualcomm could just make two strong cores instead of 4 weaker and than tell everyone they have the best single core performance but its not about singlecore performance, its about multicore and about efficiency and that's why we have 8 cores, because at the same multicore performance they are more efficient

AnonD-442781, 06 Oct 2015Stop with the nonsensical analogies which don't make sense ... moreYou want a source? Go ask Computer Science professors and ask them why making a multi-threaded code is goddamn hard, and why most applications are single-threaded. Good Luck.

Last comment does not make sense. A9 performance in single core is quite good, but soon it will be matched by Samsung Exynos. Samsung is an OEM, so it will work hard to produce something that will use and will sell. So it is not like 1 Genius vrs 10 idiots, it is more like 1 US engineer against 10 Korean ones playing the same game. History tends to repeat itself, so we know how it will end.

And how do u know Exynos 8890 has more cores than SD 820??? As far as rumours point, it is probably a quad core..

PuroDoraiba, 06 Oct 2015We'll say how the Snapdragon 820 and the Apple A10 have to ... moreWell, remember SD 820 manufactured by Samsung (with 14nm FinFeet technology) and Apple A9 also by Samsung. So this mean Samsung got all pieces by themself. He manufactures all flagship phones and completely control whatever they want. Exynos lose? not a chance as long as the other brand using SD and Apple series.

Also Samsung will also be using Qualcomm in NA and China, if their one was undoubtedly better like in 2015 then they wouldn't use it.

Plus the very fact that Crapple have to rely on the 14NM advancement in the mighty king of technology Samsung, in there latest a9 chipset, it only, and simply means that without the very helping hand of Samsung, they are; were; and will only, and always be better than a dust-in-the-wind!

It has seen with the fail of Snapdragon 810 that compromised the sales of companies like Sony and Htc. Samsung since always has made chipsets with good performance and stability, i don't know what are you talking about. The Exynos chipsets that compete directly with Snapdragon ones were always superiors.

Good to see others beside the old same old in the limelight. Hopefully LG, Huawei and others will join Samsung there in due time.
