The only company that I've seen dying is Sony Ericsson. They don't have strong market share in Smartphone segment, yet all of their handset sales only manage 5% of the global marketshare. They don't have any value added service too and PlayNow is still too immature. SE X10 is great but when it's out, it won't have any hopes since Nexus one and HTC Desire will be cheaper than X10.

In mobile phone industry, we dont care who copy who, as long as they dont copy illegally, like infringe patents, and must pay for doing wrong

if you guyd did pay special attention to details
you would know that symbian is now open source so this smartphoneOS can be applied to any phone so even if it looks like a so called android phone symbian can be on and HTC,motorola,S.E,LG,samsung or anything other phone that have the requirements so nokia and the symbian foundation are just in works with this OS that's all for now

This is ugly, this is my opinion, that watch on the UI... By the way I think they will make it much cooler, if not, Symbian 4 will be dead. By thew way Symbian 3 devices will come this year.

Julius, 28 Feb 2010@Marius and wow: That's the problem. It's 1:30 of nothing. ... morethanks for understanding my point as i am a symbian user as well

my first s60 phone was the E70 and i loved it

my second was the 5800 and then the N76 and now moved to the maemo line and now the proud owner of the N900

and seeing the new symbian^3 and ^4 concepts i will be getting one a symbian phone as well.
this is just a mear fraction of what the new symbian versions will be since symbian^1 was a ready powerful and now the interface is revampt with a touch of maemo and a new set of hardware upgrades and now software

nokia and the sybian foundation are gonna make a killing this year and i see nokia having a wicked increase in sales as well as marketshare

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2010It's funny how everyone justifies Nokia's shortcomings with... moreNokia can afford to buy technologies because they can sell their phones like no other and thats what matters. How does it matters who invents, whtat matters is who markets. Look at Apple or Google.

And you gotta add a few more names to your list like Nokia, HTC (that make phones for Google). Hardware is as important (if not more) as software.

It's funny how everyone justifies Nokia's shortcomings with the comeback "they have the patents for 3G etc... Nokia never invented these technologies, they bought them from other companies and now own them. Good business strategy but they'll never be innovators. That's for Apple and Google to do. One day there will be only 2 computer companies. Goodbye Microsoft and Nokia...
