Of course there will not be an S3 update for the 5800. When the symbian3 will be released the 5800 wil already be a 2 yers old phone. Don`t get me wrong i would love to get the symbian3 on my nokia 5800 but there is no chance we will see it on our "Tubes". From the video i have to say i was not very impresed. To me it just looks like the current symbian on the N97 but with a few new things but a little more polished.We won`t know what it can and can`t do until it`s released so i relly hope Nokia will bring some good competition with the Symbian^3.

if i read it right then they stated multi touch for resistive too. well guess what nokia and statnum may have been cooking this for a while. well please just send this tech to my n900(via fw u) and it will be perfect.

Symbian rulz!!!!! this looks quire awsome, hope they'lll send da upd8 to 5800 as well,and also hope theyd make another affordable mobile like 5800, with S3 by Q3. Keep it up nokia!!!

Not that android is bad or anything, but it's just too raw. They barely have openGL drivers working on a few devices while symbian has it since 2006.
Another thing about symbian was the power/cpu management:
-symbian achieved with omap1 features that other devices only had with omap3
-real power management, since it's an OS built from the ground up for phones and not some dumbed down debian.

But it looks exactly the same as S60v5, but with a bit of polish. I honestly don't know where Nokia are going with Symbian, but each new iteration just looks older and more tired than the previous version.

i think s3 will not come to mini. but you can expect some features like threaded sms, multiple homescreens and some new ui in photo and music. Or we can shout out loud to make nokia hear our sorrow just like 5800 users cry for kinetic scrolling

It said in the article that Symbian^3 was for resistive displays as well. Does that mean that the N97 mini will get the update as well?
