Leaving aside the look factor I must say that the case is ergonomically designed for use in both orientations..should not feel thick in use either..good job

...there are many of these battery cases that bring both, better. More capacity, more protection, with better looks.

Apple's notorious for over charging for their products on the false premise of "overall experience and cohesion" (I have one in the family so your argument is moot). Yet this hideous abomination being priced at $100 is a New "Low" by even Apple's standards.

KOSS PortaPro headset - looks like arse, produces awesome quality, cheap as hell.
Functionality should always be on top of looks.
