Anonymous, 13 Apr 2010I must be delusional then. Still can't see proper multit... moreThat statement about the iphone being best, isn't a good representative of iphone users. Probably a troll who doesn't even own one.

The iphone isn't the best device out there, and it's chiefly down to preference what you think is best.

Blackberry offers a great email experience, and does many smartphone tasks really well, but touchscreen is the must have gimmick nowadays. Combining keys = touch is a great idea, and Nokia have implemented it well into the N900, but then again, the jury is out wether they will continue to support Maemo as much once Symbian 3 is launched.

I've downloaded Opera, and it's nice to have this old favourite back from my N95/N86 days. It's a trade off though, between useability and speed, but this is ideal for being out and about without a wifi near you. I'll likely use safari for wifi spots though :)

Cutting nose off to spite ones face springs to mind.

Still can't see proper multitasking and is bluetooth file transfer available yet (use this alot to transfer files from my MBP to Blackberry and visa versa)

I have owned 2 iPhones and whilst I'll admit they are good, they are NOT the best smartphone available.

deep space bar, 12 Apr 2010apple needs money plus if i was so popular why is symbian ... moreSymbian is still on the top doesn't mean most users of the Symbian based phones are really "smart" users by downloading apps or software.

The almighty brand puts Symbian (S40) on its mid-low end phones and often "claim" it has the largest smartphone users base, when in reality most of such users (especially S40) only make / receive calls / SMS.

I'm trying to get adjusted but I don't know. The screen response is not as organic as safari. Screen rendering is quite a mess, but on the good side, clarity is somehow a bit better, and loading speed is indeed significantly faster. But still, I might switch back to safari. Safari on the iphone is just more clean cut.

deep space bar, 12 Apr 2010apple needs money plus if i was so popular why is symbian ... morePlease use a little common sense. How can one phone, the iphone, compete in numbers to the many symbian phones out there? But if you compare the iphone to its direct rivals, the iphone wins. And yes, we are seeing changes, not just adding of old features, but rather a better implementation of those features, plus more that other phones do not have like spellcheck, game center, iads, etc. Now drool :)

Not quite as good as Safari, it'd be good for 2G or Edge if you don't have good 3G.

Anonymous, 12 Apr 2010It has so many shortcomings: http://tiny.cc/iPhone3GS_revie... moreMy iPhone is unlocked, my network unlocked it for me.

iPhone's being locked is the exactly same as if I bought a SIM locked Nokia or other brand phone, which are also sold here, you ask the network to unlock it and they do, any fees are exactly the same.

Lots of times I've met tourists from Europe with SIM locked Nokia and other brands it's been happening for years before the iPhone came out.

Network locking depends on the laws of the country you buy a phone in.

The public would catch up with iphone's gimmick, if it's indeed purely a marketing scheme, but obviously it is not. After 3 years, it's still a very popular and wanted phone. Where is your proof that Apple manipulates results in Google? That is a very strong accusation. If that is true, then why don't you present your evidence to the FBI Internet Division. That way Apple can be exposed and be shut down. Isn't that what you want. I dare you.
