Jish, 05 Jan 2016People are always butt-hard when Apple does something out o... moreThey're the most backwards company ever. They use niche market ports and adaptors and make you pay through the nose for them. I had a macbook a few years agao and I loved it but at the time windows based laptops had just started pushing HDMI ports and my mac was using mini-DVI which was increasingly annoying to get cables and adoptors for and it didn't carry sound like VGA before it didn't. Now you have to buy a lightning adaptor for EVERY SINGLE different peripheral at £40 a pop and the quality is dire. We all know how pathetically weak lightning cables are which they charge £17 a time for and you HAVE to buy them because unless another brand has paid for the 'Made For Apple' licence you're pretty much screwed but the licence still drives third parties prices up.

Jish, 05 Jan 2016People are always butt-hard when Apple does something out o... moreyyeeee riiiight, just like we all started using proprietary USB ports right? Oh wait...
People give waaaay too much credit to Apple's ideas. They did push the touch screen form factor but now, I can't see many ideas that others just followed, closest one would be fingerprint sensor (that was available before). I can see them making this dumb move to a proprietary headphone or a mandatory adapter, but even this is far fetched, I think they still should have some brain cells there that remind them of their fame of good audio quality (I'm not comparing it to any phone, just talking about it's fame here).
It simply won't go in my opinion. The Oppo R5 tried to push the needless thin profile and sacrifice the audio jack, who else did the same move? It's not like "Apple will make it, all will follow", sorry but was the one who increased screen size when others did it long before? Or the Phablet market? iPad mini? iPad Pro? Apple Watch? They're not the ones setting the trends now, and this one is just too senseless to be followed. Manufacturers didn't care about Apple's new proprietary USB/dock connector, it's not now that they'll drop the 3.5mm one.
To be fair I don't bet Apple will be doing this as well.

Apple will release a new charging port as usual. And a newer one 2 years from now as they have the number one share of short-lived charging cables.

People are always butt-hard when Apple does something out of ordinary like removing cd-drive from laptop, lightning connector, but eventually that becomes the norm. No doubt this will become too after some time...
(In other news: Rumours say Galaxy S8 will have no 3.5mm jack ;))

Apple fans are so many and so dedicated that they will pollute the earth by throwing their old headphones and break the economy by buying their overpriced replacements.

more then likely there removing it, for ease of making it waterproof. so they dont have to have the cap on it. and will just heavily emphasize on bluetooh headphones. or something to that affect. just a guess. after all i hate icrap. but its the only logical reason i can find behind doing such a stupid move. that or true greed they will also abolish the bluetooth.

Apple has been playing a handicap match against the android competition , and its decision like this which will end up dealing the big blows, both ,in the short and long runs. Bluetooth headphones are yet to make their presence permanent in a market, where people live on wired headphones, so telling people to deliberately switch to bluetooth headphones is a tall order.

I dislike apple as company but I think the next thing that will replace 3.5mm is USB Type C, bluetooth or Wifi technology. And of course every new phone should include adapter for 3.5 mm in package at least for next 2 years.
