[deleted post]Clearly a very condescending reply to an honestly reasonable rant. Hey bud, why not help alleviating world poverty instead of being so hateful towards the poor?

Bricked, 19 Apr 2010It sounds like a good working business model to me. Business model based on serving only the affluent and popular? Doesn't seem an honest trade IMO.

And I really don't "hate" the iPhone. I really like its user-friendly UI, lots of apps and whatnot. However, my main gripe is that the package as a whole is oversimplified; there's no denial that the iPhone should have had better features when it was released. In my opinion, it was severely underpowered for a phone of its caliber.

People are then saying it's the be-all-end-all of all mobile phones, which it clearly isn't. Consumers are overrating this device, when we have such things as competition and in terms of hardware performance alone, there are a lot who could outmatch the iPhone. Software-wise, Apple OS is very good, but I would prefer the open-source Android or even the Symbian OS for doing features reliably.

If you believe the Apple haters, then you'd think that they have brainwashed mobile phone owners into buying their products. That's absurd, and not even worth arguing against as it is such a stupid idea.

The iphone was a premium quality handset which flew in the face of opinion a few years back, that said that phones should have better cameras, better video calling etc. If it wasn't for them, we could be still looking at clunky UI, 12mp cameras with crappy lenses on every phone and still with numeric keypads. The N95 set the bar for features, and the likes of Samsung, SE and LG followed suit. The iphone set the bar for user friendliness, which is now being followed by other manufacturers.

An Indian, 19 Apr 2010Question 1 : How long and how far is Apple planning to go b... moreYou're one of the most sensible posters here at GSMArena, I tell you that.

Indeed, why have we succumbed to the allure of eye-candy devices rather than powerful, reliable machines? Are our minds too simple to comprehend anything else than the simplistic OS of the iPhone and its many derivatives?

It's so sad to see that we, as the consumers, are being easily tricked to the false advertisements Apple has monopolized for so long. We don't need an iPhone, but Apple has created an imaginary need for such a device. Thus, it has created a brand new consumer market on its own, which dismays the current manufacturers. Now they're trying to outdo the iPhone simply because they're losing market share.

I have had an iPod Touch, and my parents have both the iPhone and 3GS. I sold my Touch for a better music player, and never had the slightest interest of having my mom or dad's iPhone. Features are very rudimentary, it took Apple a second try to incorporate 3G connectivity and a third one to perfect video recording, and many more. I sure commend Apple for bringing innovation in terms of the App Store and other features not seen in other devices, but even the most basic stuff it can't do them right.

I would call the iPhone a phone in an iPod, not an iPod within a phone. It's just a multimedia device that could make calls. If the 4G is any different, then I could complain: why only now?

No way this design is real.
This is just another one of those Chinese copycat feature phones. I, being a Nokia guy only gave credit to apple for their previous phone designs but if this is their future then RIP Apple!

ok, as an iphone fan (and I really AM, since day 1)I'm thrilled. I can't wait to get the 4g. Yet I have to say that the very first one, the 2g or whatever, that one remains, to me, the best looking ever. I never agreed the 3g plastic back. The 4g presents a more common opening back... soooo not iphone feature. anyway, even if it's a bit too square shaped, it's still ok with me. it looks ok and I'm pretty sure the real thing will be ok in my hands. I love this: loch ness monster in a big foot photo =)) it's so hilarious!

I don't care if these photos are real or not. and i also don't care about those 'leaked' photos. But anyways if the specifications are right Then i'd like to say to apple "welcome to the real smart phone world".

Question 1 : How long and how far is Apple planning to go by simply serving the over-funded idiots in these days of recession? I wonder! Really! Is it really profitable to serve the top cream strata of the economy?

Question 2 : In the ego-driven rat-race of launching the latest package, the world has already witnessed the exit of 2 giants -- SE and MOTO. Is it really wise to serve the self-inflated ego balloon these days by making over-priced eye-candy gadgets instead of flooding the mass with good reliable technology with affordable price-tags?
