I've tried some phones and all the Words document went out of places. It a hassle to fix it back.

Windows Phone super fans: If these people existed, they would probably buy the 950 instead. If they don't have enough money, they would be waiting for price drop. And these fans would be more likely know enough about the spec and opted for either 640 or other models.
Techie customers: they would know about specifications, and for the money, there are too many Android phones offering better bang for the buck
New users to smartphones: these users are more price sensitive, and would opt for cheaper Android alternative than a $200+ Windows phone. Plus their friends will ask for x and y apps and once they don't see it on Windows Phone, they would not bite.
Microsoft is dropping Lumia brand, and this was probably a quick and dirty way (with cheap cost on MS part by using low end SoC) to clear the pipeline.

Is it just me or the people here so oblivious about Microsoft. Don't you guys know that Windows10 alone already priced at $119. Plus the phone hardware and stuff, $222 is considerably cheap. The chipset have nothing to do with the pricing. Stop blaming the SD210. If you see the built-up rate for this phone then you will know why.

Remember the Apples Hunchback battery case. It is ugly, cannot use earphone jack, expensive, has better alternatives. But Apple fans buys them.

As you all said it has high price but I think that's how marketing works. I think I understand them. It will have high price at beginning so they can have higher profits but after some months price will be lower so they can still earn higher profits and be not at loss. So, in marketing sense this is reasonable, just hope for them that sd210 doesn't put it off customers from buying even with lower price.

Considering phones like Moto G and Xiaomi have redefined what consumers expect at the $200 price range, this is pathetic. And that's just based on spec. There's still the question on the ecosystem itself. Do people want to pay that much for a platform with poorer selection of apps compared to Android?
On the other hand, this might be interesting if it's $100. Good luck Microsoft.
