HTC One M10 to follow A9 design trend

26 January, 2016
The handset is apparently still in development and heading to AT&T, but will most likely miss MWC 2016.

i hope HTC doesn't just copy iphone 6 design, but alsy copies its effort integrating and optimizing the OS with the hardware.
with snapdragon 820, speed is no longer a problem. please optimize the battery usage as well.

The A9 looked shitty. I really want to see HTC back in the game, but it seems like they just really WANT to bankrupt themselves...

I can tell you definitely know about the smartphone world, unlike a lot of people here. So, if the M10 does follow the design elements of the A9, then it's gonna be totally crap, unless they stay with the BoomSound, otherwise, that's gonna be it. This is going to be HTC's last chance to properly recover the success they had, so if they screw this one up, then that's it, we'll be able to say goodbye HTC.

The plastic antenna thingies to be more exact. Your point is absolutely valid but A9's design maybe the product of the evolution of their own design and not plagiarism.

AnonD-379427, 26 Jan 2016But there's no deny that the A9 looks exactly like the iPho... moreI think HTC's designers wanted to make the new One series phones to look more sleek, more "modern" by refining the design they already had. But there's hardly any wiggle room for ground breaking changes when designing a touchscreen phone. I like what GSMArena wrote in the A9 review as a disadvantage:
"HTC may have a claim on the controversial design, but it isn't popularized by the brand"
                        - they didn't want to start a war so they included the "may" word
                        - it doesn't really matter who made it first, Apple made the design popular and now everyone identifies it as an iPhone design
What concerns me is because of the popularity of the iPhone everybody knows what someone means when they say "it looks like an iPhone". Should HTC copy some unknown manufacturer, no one would make claims that the new HTC XY looks just like the UnknownCorp Z. People who thinks journalism is about copy&pasing and the pinnacle of their tech proficiency is stating that "only Macs have MAC address" spread the news like the plague that HTC took an iPhone and put their hardware in it.
And I don't think Apple counts this as a serious issue beacause some years ago they've sued a company (maybe Samsung) on charges that the edges of their new phone are curved in the same degree as the current iPhone, and if I'm right they haven't sued HTC yet.

HTC should have stick to the M8&M9 design with M10... ...why make phone that looks like iPhone when you had unique design with previous One M models?!? I don't understand that. Does this mean no stereo speakers for M10 either? I'm glad i have M8 (with boomsound stereo speakers!) with newly updated Marshmallow and it's smooth as hell!

What I want from A9 to be in M10:
                                  - Fingerprint scanner
                                  - ...

                                  What I want from M10 that's not in A9:
                                  - Trademark BoomSound stereo front speakers
                                  - At least 3000 mAh battery
                                  - Shorter bottom bezel (move the fp scanner elsewhere)
                                  - ...
