I've brought HTC Hero, before I came from SYMBIAN. I've used many SYMBIAN phones from Nokia. I've got HTC Hero to get some fresh air after using so many SYMBIAN phones. I thought Android on hero was best & HTC will provide updates time to time for it!???

BUT, my idea was totally wrong, Before buying this one I compared Hero to N97 mini. Now I think N97 mini is far better than my hero. At least N97 mini gets its updates time to time.

I'll go back to SYMBIAN again with Nokia, Hero is my first and last handset from HTC unless they provide Android 2.2 update for it. unless they provide Android 2.2 update for it.

SYMBIAN, SYMBIAN & SYMBIAN is far better than any versions of Android. SYMBIAN is the best with NOKIA.

updated my Nexus to 2.2, and WOW, linpack benchmark is hitting 39-41 mflops - others with custom versions of 2.2 and rooted access are hitting 49mflops, theres a few small bugs with 2.2 but the added features... wow..

peter, 24 May 2010what do u mean rooted?Rooting your phone gives access to the top level folder hierarchy of the phone and it's software. You can mod your phone to get access to these folders to install whatever ROM you like. However the official updates from Android need a standard, non-tweaked ROM package to write to otherwise the update will fail.

or does it have to be the same?
                            i.e
                            Froyo 1.0
                            Froyo 2.5
                            Froyo 2.6
                            etc...

                                  [deleted post]And me??

My original comment (however brief) was based on the process by which Google (and the OHA) has tackled the update of the Android OS on the Nexus One by delivering it to the end-user within a very small timeframe from its initial announcement therefore demonstrating the efficiency at which the Android platform is progressing in contrast to the iPhone which has remained all but static in hardware and software for the past 3 years. And whereas Apple insult their users with such ground-breaking update features like 'copy n' paste' (a feature that also made it to TV advertising level!?!), Android users get busy with Flash and dramatic speed improvements.

But thanks for your input, I think I can guess what phone you have...
