The M9 really just got lost in the crowd last year due to failing to bring anything compelling over it's predecessor, and it's camera (despite the 20mp resolution) failed to live up to promise, proof that megapixels aren't everything.
A 12mp 'ultrapixel' camera really sounds like a good step in the right direction, I hope the rest of the device is as promising. This is potentially a make or break device for HTC.

Today, dual tone LED flash, phase detection, laser focus, optical stabilization, these are the things that sell. Along with bigger pixels and other similar gadgetry.

HTC needs to deliver. The m7 and m8 were brilliant phones. Since then they've been very poor. I really hope they keep the boomsound speakers as there is no comparison in sound quality to other flagships.

I really, really, reaalllly hope so. I also hope they go with AMOLED screen with small bezels. Then it might be my first HTC phone.

nokia n73, n82, n95 and etc were all UltraPixel after all.

problem is that they have kept it at 1.5-1.5 micron compared to 2 on their one M8.
so wont offer any significant advantage over S7 or G5

they could give us 16mpx on S7, but what will they offer on S8 ?
