First it was the megapixel race on camera phones. Then the touchscreen race. Now it seems like the processor speed and graphics accelerator will be the next on race. I think Ghz speeds on a mobile phone is too much. But maybe I´m wrong. I still do most of the things on my smartphone with 369mhz processor but I have to admit it isn´t snappy. It isn´t slow either.

FFS, some of you guys really need to come out in real world that is way way too big to understand. Your small mobile is not everything, you are not only user in the entire universe. There are better people, more productive who are in search and in desire to have more processing and storage to do what they can do, so better stop claiming no one need more processing power.
Again, these processors are made not just to use in mobile, there are whole bunch of people waiting for some real and useful tablet with a proper and powerful OS, those devices that people like ME want so bad will use these. And don't ask me to get a netbook or laptop because I am done with all and I want a real tablet with good processing power.

Phones need software optimization and good developers, not 2GHz clock speeds, we've seen what a waste was the 1GHz on a WinMo phone. Don't get me wrong, i love the HD2, but it could have been so much more.

Over 2GHz speed and 1080p is a MUST, if it is to become an ultimate media phone with smooth ui at its best!!¡¡¡
Ps, only a complete idiat would think that a phone doesn't need higher than 1ghz speed - the main reason why most phones feel slow today

Great news! i am sure that prices of devices running on the 1ghz snapdragon's will drop sharply about 1 year from now as htc hero's price dropped from 400 to 2oo euros here in one month! IMO a 1ghz mobile with froyo will be still more than enough for the next 2-3 years, and by then who knows these 1.5 x2 would be considered out-dated by many people and u'd get them for free on a 15euros monthly subscription! personally i feel my hero's cpu is still more than enough( unless u r interested in watching HD movies on your 3.5'' screen!)
