Max, 04 Jun 2010What the hell?! I think the stiff competition in the marke... moreLook at the slide, it mentions platforms, not mobile platforms, the mobile part is something GSMarena came up with themself.
The picture is all about QT and OVI store, so we can assume, its all about OVI store beeing a place where you can get QT apps, that work for several of platforms... among others Windows, and this might be windows 7, not Windows Phone 7.
And if nokia can make QT a tool for developing for several of platforms, this would gain Nokia, since more developers would be keen to use it...

And on the other hand, if they would make Windows phones, whats wrong with that? there are sevaral of members of the android group that makes Windows Phones.
I really dont see the point to why Nokia would do a Windows Phone, but the problem is not the MeeGo platform ownership, but the weak Windows Phone platform, that does not meassure up to Nokias platform, and that does come at a cost.

100% it's not going to happen. Nokia already have 2 smartphone OSs. The slide probably is rather old since it references Maemo, not MeeGo, and the windows part is most probably about their netbook.

Nokia should make a mid-range android phone.

            What the hell?!
I think the stiff competition in the market Nokia faces from it's rivals(specially those come from Korea)caused certain emotional problems for some head execs of the company.please can someone tell why should a company almost destroy it self to produce and promote something(which actually even it self don't know what it will be!)and throw big bucks in and at the same time help it's rival? which uneven means:throw all $ right in the middle fire!!
even if Nokia gone mad and decide to do this co-owner of MeeGo(really, what kind if name is that?!)which is a giant and of course the one should respect,Intel will not let this madness happening.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2010It's about the QT. QT apps would be run on S60 & Mae... moremy thought exactly.
No mention of mobile-platforms here, where did GSMarena get that?
And even if nokia meant Windows CE based system like WinPhone 7, who's to say, that they didnt do that just to get more to sign up around QT and use it for creating apps.. nokia sure would gain from that.

Dont think Nokia will do a Windows Phone 7-phone for a very long time, if ever, due to the limitations that come with the platform (at least initally), then Meego and Symbian 3 are far better... and with symbian 4 around the corner...

Whoa! no idiotic "first" comment. Now THAT'S shocking.

I sure hope that was a slipup. Windows Mobile is TERRIBLE! Symbian and Maemo are MUCH better OS'. I hope Nokia doesn't screw up their great OS.

I have read an article quite a while back where Nokia and MS made a statement that they are collaborating together to challenge BlackBerry.
