The chances of fixing a phone comes down when you use it in a way you need to use it. We live in a world with all kinds of people some want slim phones some want to do it yourself and some want battery, external memory....the list goes on. So where do you draw a line???

I believe you can't satisfy everyone. But Samsung has done a good job in enhancing the product.

shazii, 09 Mar 2016buy sony xperia z series and orget the repair problem best ... moreYeah, right...

Had Z3C for a year before USB flap failed. Then USB itself failed. And then the most absurd failure on any smartphone - screen literally started to glue off.

As good as the phone is (and as fun as it is having waterproofing), there is just no way l would ever buy Sony again...

The phone has top notch processing Hardware and expandability in storage with a huge 3000mah battery and let's not forget the Waterproof ecnlosure and with a high screen-to-body ratio and people whining why it was built that way? I guess if you've lived sometime on this Planet you should already know you never get everything, you should make comprimises.

dont worry my love, once i buy your edge counterpart, the only place where it will be falling is on pillows. daddy's going to take care of you pretty well :P

The phone looks good only till the point you buy a case for it. After you put it into the case, the "curved glass back in a thin, beautiful device" disappears. It becomes "yet another formless shapeless design-free brick". And its kind of sad.

Well obviously the waterproofing is more complex and locks the phone even more

Everyone need a phone that looks rich, elegant to put an ugly cover on. Unibodies, metal frames etc are useless

Can people be realistic? You want small, slim, compact phone with all features to be built in. Of coz manufacturers has to do this way. Yes. They can make it repairable 100% but the phone will not be that compact.

Galaxy S8 will get 2/10, Galaxy S9 will get 1/10 and then Samsung will launch world's first use and throw mobile at the cost of $1000 USD.

I see some hypocrasy here by Samsung fans... when Gs4 came out and put into this kind of test by iFixit then get a good result. Sansung fans start whining about it and bash iphone for bad repairability score and now look at their bu++h*rt comments they even praise it like God! lol

Don't be ignorant! Many other products have gone through this path decades ago. Vehicular tires for instance. Before the invention of radial tires, tires can go on for 3 years. With radial tires you now need to change tires every year or less before the steel mesh sticks out. Another example would be shoes. Shoe soles were glued and stiched back then where the shoes can last for 3 years or so. Now, most shoes are just glued. In a year or les your shoes are already talking to you to buy new ones. Its really up to the consumers to not let companies go through this path, but buyers are just addicts. They complain... but still end up buying them.

Good luck sending it to an authorized repair shop on your own costs.

Its almost as if the nicer a phone looks, the harder it becomes to repair. iphone before was praised for its extremely polished look but usually criticized for not being very repairable. Samething happening here. Galaxy S7 in the looks department is ahead of the iphone and it becomes harder to repair.
