Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016Google should give Sony a chance.Well, sony phones are great in terms of performance due to software optimizations, not for the specs, so they won't really work well on a nexus since it'll be using stock android.

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2016Well the Nexus 7 was meant to be budget friendly. It pretty... moreNexus name initially was to represent flagship Google device.
From a consumer point of view they were seen as the best way to ensure the latest Android updates would be available, and that carriers wouldn't get in the way/delay the rollout of important security updates.

Nexus should represent the best that Android can deliver, so it typically matched itself with the best selections of hardware to ensure the OS ran smooth.

I personally am glad Google has chosen HTC as their 'go to' company to achieve this goal.

HTC typically hits it out of the park when assembling technology to these design ideals.
                Much success to them.

In Singapore we do not have official Nexus phones. Whatever we get are export sets with zero warranty which is quite sad i guess.
I would love to get my hands on a HTC made Nexus.

As many have said, they make good quality phones. Since i started using HTC (HTC Touch was my first which was on windows platform), they've had great mid-end to flagship phones throughout.

And why this news piece is one of the best bits of tech news I have read in a wee bit.

When HTC made Nexus' it was worth having.
Hopefully we will get proper tough glass (dragontrail/gorilla etc) and that HTC can support this product into all relevant markets with a strong presence.
