Samsung Galaxy S7 battery life

13 March, 2016
We've been through it a lot - the Samsung Galaxy S5, as all Galaxy S's before it, had a user-replaceable battery, and the S6 didn't, which sucks. Not only that, it actually had a smaller battery than the model it replaced.

Battery discharge characteristics are not linier, it depends on temperature too, in my experience, 75% - 40% of battery capacity, will drop much longer than other range capacity (with same testing parameters)

Anonymous, 13 Mar 2016did you really just write that over 80mha? That's not the point and as someone else pointed out Mi4s has 3280 mAh. Try to understand the point behind the post if you can.

I'm a Nokia Lumia 1520 user. The phone boasts a 3400maH battery which is good to go for 2 days. Very happy about everything this phone offers except the lack of useful apps. I would buy any other flagship when it comes with a 4000maH or more battery capacity, no matter user replaceable or not. Nobody cared for their customers as Nokia did. Waiting for their come back in 2017. I won't ever fall for a flagship with 2k or 4k screen who offers battery capacity as less as 2800 maH or less. That is not really smart ! Chinese smartphones prove, how they can pack a lot of powerful features for a price tag of 400-500$ They are the answer to the so-called flagship killers. I would wait for another 2 years for somebody to launch a better smart phone.

Not crazy about the battery life either. Phone was at 95% and I scrolled through my FB news feed for about 15 minutes, not watching any videos, just scrolling and it went down to 88%. Don't see how it would last 9 hours.

bought one, I find the battery life really no better than the S6. The battery will last a day with light usage. 11 hours off the charger, two hours screen time, used to surf web and take pictures...was down to 15%. I'm truly disappointed. These tests don't tell the whole story...
signal strength is excellent, no wifi, no bluetooth...love the form factor, but it will most likely go back in the return window....

And whe... moreI agree... my S4 would be 3 yrs old after 3 months, and the battery still going well even though it has an old android OS and tons of apps, so the battery may perform as new when I would upgrade from the old 4.3 and clean the device's storage

its seems that the people arguing about this fact, doesn't have an original or best manufacturing quality phones... in my area, its the Vietnamese manufactured phones considered having the best quality

Anonymous, 13 Mar 2016Batteries do not degrade that quickly.Yeah they do. Apple claims up to 500 cycles for their iPhone battery which is a bit shorter than 2 years if you go through a charging cycle every day.
Don't expect better or worse from others; it's just the current battery technology.

To my experience, every mobile that has bellow 75h in gsmarena test is a phone i cannot live with. This just prooves that S7 can make the day with a user that buys a flagship to use its capabilities. I expect the s7 edge to top it and offer a decent battery life for a trendy thin phone.
My golden standard is the LG G2, that despite its sealed battery and supposed degradation can still outlast G3, G4 and G5.
Last year the flagships had terrible battery life because they were chasing the iphone's 7mm thickness at the expense of battery capacity.
Another culprit was the 2.5k resolution. Unlike LG, Samsung returned to reason and added decent battery capacity to the evergrowing energy needs of latest flagships.
Noone who is paying premium to get such a flagship will keep it for more than 2 years, so up untill then, there wont be any battery issues, the one who will buy it second hand after 2 years, must buy a new battery from a Samsung service store and pay the extra 15$ to them, to have it installed without the risks a third party store involves both for the quality of the battery and the installment!

Wonder what happened with web browsing, it pulled the overall endurance rating lower than I thought it would. The s5 had a 2800mah battery and 83 hours endurance rating, its disappointing that the s7 couldn't even match it.
