Anonymous, 16 Mar 2016Unless the car driven in question has an all-electric power... moreLOL its all about kinetic to potential energy, so you have two system doing work instead of one, but the energy still has to come from somewhere... you cant speed up and use less energy, if that was the case the universe would be a very different place.

Mediatek u should go with 10nm to be step forward from other companies and not just follow. Create 8 core processors, 16 core flagship - not big small architecture, make all cores can work at the same time and have the same speed. Take your GPU step forward an not just follow. Create good marketing plan! Brainwash people for a year and there u go! ;)

Still on 28nm fabrication process? No way! Mediatek should know how to step up theyre game, focus on how to make it it on 16nm fabrication process or even 14, 20, not by just adding cores which is useless most of the time.

just give an incredibly brilliant dual core or quad core rather than adding numbers to make yourselves sound better.

I'm not sure why the whole lot of upgrades on mobile phone's CPU and GPU. what they need to focus on (idk if im the only thinking on this) is the battery life of a mobile phone. you have a powerful GPU and CPU but your battery life is being consumed and to think that most of the smartphones now does have non removable batteries. one more thing, specs of your phone be like:

CPU: octacore, hexacore all cores, unlicores etc etc...
                      GPU: unlicores:
                      RAM: unlimited GB
                      Camera: unli pixel
                      apps: unlimited apps
                      games: unlimited games
Battery: 5000mah (what do you think how long it will last?)
Time you can use your phone: working hours in the office 8hours, travel time 2 hours max, quality time for gf/bf/family 4 hours, ME time 2 hours, 8 hours sleep. do we think that we can maximize our phone that much?

                      i dont think.

Nowadays, i see smartphones as disposable, every quarter new modes arrive, bigger specs, but not a necessity.

i dont understand why it required a name change, other then for marketing purposes. can almost guarantee you this is nothing more then binning. these cheaps are just center wafer , so can be clocked higher, nothing more.

In terms of CPU performance, no. Benchmarks and personal reviews did show a good rating for the Helio X series

I agree with you though as GPU performance among all the handset I owned will ALWAYS eat up CPU performance and will cause lag and other performance issues.

Smartphones larger than 5 "are too much overweighted in the product range of manufacturers.
These huge "smart" phones fit in any shirt pocket and in a jeans pocket they invite you to theft
Users with hands like toilet seats are CLEARLY in the minority.
There are far too few devices between 4.6 - 5.0 "with SoC like 650, X20 or Exynos 7420 with 2 -3 RAM and a 3,000mAh battery.
                                    Hopefully Apple initializes a turnaround!
Cancelling the Pro 5 Mini they missed an opportunity - imo

answer to some body don't know any thing about mediate. now the 3rd place in chipset market. first is great quallcom and second is favorite name as apple. but 3rd place emerges with mediate name. why some body say don't use mediate devices. I have htc one M9+ and it's very faster than my brother galaxy s6 edge. also M9+ is better than my previous htc one E8 and xperia z2. I compare it with many smartphone and was better especially in multi tasking. but Gpu is very low in comparison with adreno 430. I belive mediate high class chips.
I say again I have htc one M9+ with mediate helio X10 and enjoy of it.
                                      regards

Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890 can only deliver their respective peak performances with 2 core, yet early reports mentions heating.

Cortex-A72 at Helio X20 gonna be different story hence its manufactured inferior 20nm planar process comparison to 14/16nm FinFET high-end SoCs. Snapdragon 650/652 has been manufacturing even more inferior 28nm planar process.
