MediaTek Helio X25 will be exclusive to the Meizu Pro 6

16 March, 2016
The X25 is an enhanced version of the X20 with higher clockspeeds for the Cortex-A72 cluster and for the GPU.

People who are asking mediatek to learn from exynos and snapdragon should knw that both of those SOCs are using custom cores and mediatek cant afford to produce them so the only way mediatek can stay significant is by adding raw power via higher number of cores and higher clocking speeds.....
All things aside, i see mediatek x25 as a step back from exynos 7420 used in meizu pro 5 considering 14nm manufacturing process on the ezynos 7420 and 20nm on x20/x25.....

AnonD-425888, 16 Mar 2016If you speed up it will use more power, its like a car, if ... moreWell there may be some small optimizations on the efficiency or it may just never reach the advertised speed (read: SD810) consistently and is just a marketing gimmick.

But that small increase in speed definitely won't add much to the performance.

X20 can't reach either SD820/Exynos 8890 levels, i highly doubt X25 will make any difference

still using 2xA72 instead 4, a rebrand of x20 with a little more Hz.
just like amd rebranding their gpu.
the question is, will it throttle ?
last time I read, X20 seems shutdown their High performance (2xA72) cores when stressed for a certain time. only the lower performance A53s able to work for prolong time.

soo many cores!! battery life killer. mediatek should learn from snapdragon and EXYNOS

Mediatek, spam your low performance cores all you want, but you still won't win against the SD820 or Exynos 8890

          GPU side too.

If you speed up it will use more power, its like a car, if you speed up it will use more gas. Sooo
