MediaTek Helio X25 will be exclusive to the Meizu Pro 6

16 March, 2016
The X25 is an enhanced version of the X20 with higher clockspeeds for the Cortex-A72 cluster and for the GPU.

Even the SD625 (8xA53) is a worthy competitor. Although, from early benchmarks, the Helio X20 will be better than SD650/652, but only in CPU. GPU performance will be more or less the same.

just marketing.. nothing much different from x20

Too many no names brand carry mediatek chipset. I never trust them ever again. Yes, it is high quality but if you pit it into a brand that doesn't even know how to optimized the chipset it is still end up being useless.

X20 is rumored to be plauged by overheating issue and clocking the CPU & GPU higher may lead to make conditions even worse...and A53 cores are meant to be power-efficient not performance oriented.so mediatek should stop clocking their CPUs too high....

Anonymous, 16 Mar 2016too many high-end processors by media tek these daysbut, currently mediatek "high end" are only x10 and x20.
current mediatek "High end" is on par with SD "mid end".
x20 is on par or slightly better than SD 650.
putting x20 on a phone and call it flagship is a joke (at least in term of performance).

From what I know the two a72 cores will run for a short time at 2.5 GHz then shift to 2.3ghz with all a53 cores active and if heating further the a72 cores turn off and this works as an octacore.Still the official details are not out and the details which I have are from a tech blog speculation.

I have only good things to say about Meizu phones. Currently using an MX5 and really happy with it. It is the best performing X10 enabled phone out there. Top build quality and stable software (if a little quirky) as well.

Will be interested in this phone for sure. The Pro 5 is still a great buy at around 400 USD to be honest so those looking for a flagship level performing phone, look no further.

I love my Meizu Pro 5 - best phone I have had yet. Will definitely consider the Pro 6 but only if battery life is just as good as the Pro 5. Actually, I may go for the MX6 as it is a more convenient size. I only bought the Pro 5 because the MX5 did not come with band 7 (2600). Anyway, I love the whole UI of Meizu phones so will definitely buy again.

There is no point in buying a Meizu device. They hardly let the boot loader be unlocked and barely provide the source code / kernel source for their devices. Using all the effort of the open source community without giving anything back.

2xA72+2xA53, (yes, a QUADCORE), but because it has much fewer core it eat less power = less heat, they might able clock it real high.
also, upgrade the GPU up to MP16, but mediatek is known for stingy, i mean, really stingy for this matter
