the gpu is slightly stronger and the cpu is slightly weaker in multicore performance while being better in single core performance... all resulting it relatively the same performance. If anyone wants to buy it then they should look more into the battery life and which runs cooler.

If manufacturing chips is that easy then why didn't qualcomm manufacture sd 820 by themselves. Scared maybe that it'd be another heating disaster like 810. Multicore score of exynos is still far better than sd.

every time there is a post involving Qualcomm product and other processor, will incite a battle of comments (Pro-Sams Vs Pro-Quals). going through the comments, very few are objective, rational and realistic.
and the ridiculous thing is the say "Samsung is the maker of SD820" though it is a fact, impossible to consider it as a prove of superiority of samsung over qualcomm. Qualcomm is fabless, they will make the chipset in their labs during the its early stages. and then testing its performance before the mass production.
if they are confident that this is the final thing in the chipset (lets say SD820), they will contract a firm to do the mass production for the chipset (and in SD820 it is Samsung).
so, for the fool people who gives samsung credit for manufacturing SD820, you do not understand anything !!

First of all, please get your facts checked. All Samsung flagships (except S6 which did not even consider SD) have been shipped with both Exynos and SD processors in different markets. And samsung shipped exynos versions in key markets for them (i.e. Korea, China, India and some parts of europe) since they have better markets in these areas.
I'm not saying Snapdragon is in anyway inferior, but exynos is on-par and in some cases, especially battery optimization, better than it's SD counterpart. Go and check any device that samsung uses, even a 2000mAh battery on Galaxy alpha gives better performace than SD phone with 2800mAh. Samsung pushes every limit on their phone and hence even when their phones are ahead of the curve on every hardware aspect, they catch the competition in all the benchmarks. Read about S7's benchmarks which clearly state that if same processors are used on 1080p devices, they'll throw the competition out of the ring hands down. But you clap for SD with 1080p against Exynos with 1440p. Lol.
Also btw, since you're so desperate to underplay samsung, I should tell you that your beloved Snapdragon 820 is manufactured by Samsung only. Lol... Joke's on you!

Initial scores... moreFour months ago these SoC weren't even final, many times final consumer version are not able to perform at the original level. Maybe at that time the devices were overheating so they had to necessarily bottleneck the SoCs. For all that matters they bottlenecked the SD too.

Many other tech sites are saying the Exynos is more efficient for battery life. Snapdragon 820 = dragon breath. The International market got the better end of the deal because most Americans are brainwashed by Apple pie anyway. We International folks get the battery efficient Exynos, more storage space other than 32 GB, and a white model.
I would rather lose a little with benchmark scores and minor performance with intensive gaming where real world usage won't make me notice to have longer battery life. Exynos, stick to it. Samsung wanted to keep CA-based and used their SoC this year again only to send all to the States. Samsung knows they can never beat Apple in their homeland. So what do they do? Do what Nokia did all those years. Ignore them while offering the best to the continents where they outsell Apple.
