LG? their G5 with cheap plastic body? lying along how well build their smartphone, advertised it as "aluminum unibody build" and price is like a leading brand flagship? $688 pricetag from cheap brand like LG? although flagship must be feel premium no matter how innovative it was and look very well(LG G5 is UGLY and cheapo feel build). The modular is just a gimmick for me, they just want you to pack an another expensive accessories the will be useless in a long way around. (I think this G5 is still an unfinished experiment the unlished immediately for competition) no thank you!
furthermore when it comes to brand value Samsung is miles a head! Apple is the right competition for Samsung. feel premium and worth its pricetag! LG is just an another way around and they must compete with chinese OEMs not with Samsung directly no matter how innovative or premium they smartphones they make.

Seems you have some trouble understanding common english. I never said it was equal. It's an opinionated approach when deciding what is superior. Im sorry if it bothers you people will still rate this phone highly and that people will still purchse.

Its such a niche product you should be laughing at the people who say they're equal. Because they're not equal, if you're a part of the very small minority who needs the above features more than all the important stuff the s7 has, then don't go shoving it down other people's throats like the g5 is actually on equal footing.

Even if G5 was a better phone it wouldn't matter because people pick the phone that suits them better. Like clearly u have supported G5 which is fair because it could be the better phone for you. But I would never buy G5 even if they were just giving it away cuz it's a very bad phone in my opinion. So when people say G5 is worse or S7 sucks they are both true cuz they are saying their personal opinion. But there is a clear winner here which is again my opinion I'm not speaking for the gsmarena community. Your free thinking brain wasn't so free I guess.

I think its funny how so many people here give the Lg G5 shit because its "ugly" or the battery doesn't line up... "its a 1/4 of a millimeter off at best".... I hear the s7 trumps it in almost everything.... Ummm no it doesn't... Take a little time to watch all the reviews.
People with half a brain know what really matters is user interface, real time speed tests (not an antutu which doesn't really prove much)
If your'e not happy with a phone with cosmetic flaws fair enough. If you want glass, fair enough, if you need waterproof/wireless fair enough... You can't say the s7 is better because it suits you.
I'm not a fan boy of any sort but I am fair. There are some things the S7 and G5 have that I like. I am going to be buying one of these phones within the next week or so. But I cant tell you right now apart from picky cosmetic flaws it does not mean the LG is a bad phone. You guys will be surprised how many people will still buy the G5. Thought Id throw in a fast fact "the G5 is selling 3 times faster than the G4 did" Hmmmmmm

LG will definitely get my vote. They had the courage to innovate and I expect the next LG will be unstoppable if they build on the momentum they started. One big drawback is the lack of wireless charging which should be a feature in every smartphone. Unlike Sammy they do listen to what the customers want.

LG G5 all the way. It's better in any way and totally the 2016 top android flagship that so far can't be beaten. Maybe the HTC 10 will come with something special to kick the G5 from it's throne.

They could've just fine tune the hardware (A good LCD/OLED display, latest SoC, better/different material on back cover, little bit better camera, may be a fingerprint reader, larger battery) & toned down their ugly UI. BUT... they exactly the opposite. They ruined a very good phone hardware wise & software wise. They went to a smaller removable battery from a larger removable battery... Modularity is nice. Nobody is complaining about it. But you shouldn't experiment with your well established flagship! You wanna bring modularity, fine start another lineup, if it is successful bring it to the flagship lineup. Learn from Samsung. After failing with S5, the intruduced Alpha, then brought that design to Note 4.

The G5 is a prototype that doesn't know what its supposed to be yet and the S7 is an actual finished product. And it trumps the G5 in almost every aspect. Wake up people!

I actually love the G4 better, even though I miss the 'plastic-metal' look and the fingerprint scanner. The front-side of the G5 is a fail--ugly as hell, and the back.. don't ask me for that protruding camera back, plasticky feel (even though it's paint-coated metal) and bendable swap-able module.
Don't forget S7/edge's curved back + front (edge), 0.46mm protruding camera, 12MP Dual Pixel AF (fastest AF on smartphone), IP68 water-resistance, 3600mAh battery (edge), wireless charging. Gotta admit its fragile af with that better build quality (all metal and glass), but add a super slim, transparent case, and you're done.
