I guess there is a niche who are invested in the sound of the speakers. The only times i've seen the speakers being used is at the back of the bus where the unemployed listen to crazy frog and bieber - but those usually have iphones, so it'll be hard to convince them to get htc....

Christ, it seems someone at HTC is listening to its customers. Thank God for that. There still might be hope for HTC, now I really can't wait to see what they made.

And I do carry my in-ears (Xiaomi Piston 3's) everywhere I go, but music/video are easily shared with friends by using the phone speakers when there are no other speakers available.
This is what I'm saying; personally, phone speakers are the least important way to listen to music from my phone. Not even HTC's BoomSound -speakers are nowhere near external speaker's quality (quite obvious) and if you really want to enjoy your music, then the tiny phone speakers are the worst option (compared to headphones/external speakers). It's so simple, I hope you understand me now correctly. I never said that HTC's speakers were bad for being phone speakers, just that those aren't still good enough for me.

taking a call in your car with headphones or holding the phone is dangerous. (speaker phone need to be good if you have a old model car.)
sitting in the park with headphones on, not hearing who is coming up behind you is not a good idea.
quickly showing some friends a funny you-tube or facebook video by shearing headphones is nasty.
using waze or google maps nav with headphones is inconvenient.
being at home with kids is not a good idea to block out, outside noise even if you want to hear something on your phone.
3 people in a office environment on 1 incoming call from contractor requires a good speaker phone.
if none of these issues affect you, good for you. but i like the speakers on my ONE MAX and hated my old SIII
so please people don't make good speakers on an expensive phone sound like its not important. or less important than headphones. it's a flag ship after all not a cheap starter smart phone.

But my current phone (Nexus 6) has 2560x1440-screen, stereo front speakers and a high-resolution camera. I also have a high-end self-built gaming PC - I'm also audiophile, that's why I always prefer other speakers/headphones, not the tiny own ones on my phone. You are aware that even cheap (less than 300 euros) external speakers are light-years ahead of your phone speakers? And well, even 1/3 of that price will give you better sound quality than what your phone speakers can deliver. Which speakers or headphones do you have again?

seriously every troll attacking boomsound speakers is like saying you don't need the high megapixel camera since you will only use your photos on social media ... or you don't need QHD display since if you want to watch something you can do it on your TV... or you don't need high power CPU and RAM since there only use is for games and you can play games on your gaming console ...
if everybody was thinking like you trolls we would still be using Nokia or Ericsson phones

It's weird how you can say phone speakers sound great... To me, they're just too far away from that level of quality. And yes, I don't consider M8's speakers as anything special, they were just another flat-sounding pair of tiny speakers not fitting for serious listening.

which sound very good even after the phone was in the water !
The position and design language of HTC J3 is very good, but HTC is stupid and sell it only in Japan/Taiwan, and HTC go bankrupt for that.

I see this 10 as quite a phenomenal looking package by the looks.
If anyone has had the pleasure of the gorgeous A9 as a handset then I can only imagine with the 10s additional features, feel, look, camera and sound and fast chipsets etc that it will be fantastic
I mean how good does it get overall and the quality solid build goes without saying.
