Lets understand the customer base of flagship phones. Yes, these phones are bought by aware people who knows about atleast a bit of technicals. So fooling them by giving them same look and feel with downgraded specs wouldn't be a wise decision.
Lifestyle can be an option other than the main HTC 10 for the ones who dont require hi-fi specs for any reason or who are not ready to spend that much.
If HTC doesnt release the main HTC 10 in India, 3rd biggest mobile consumer market, I think its the game done for them. They need to seriously reconsider getting both phones in India, plus dual sim versions.

M9 plus was launched instead of m9 with mediatak soc. And now sd 652 in 10. why htc why. It was a turnoff back then, and is a turnoff now again. Betrayal.

i'm from taipei. hope they sell the Lifestyle variant here. I don't like the "Lifestyle" moniker though.

I'm not understanding why OEMs are fooling final customers
Coz not everyone checks out phone specs before buying one. And SD 652 with QHD will not fly as the other combo
And this may turn out bad for HTC as if this change fails to offer the same level performance than it may give bad publicity to them
Even LG is going the same way ripping off customers from some areas I do agree at lower price but still why compromise..
Coz HTC is trying to be back into the game and such decisions create bad impressions
I remember Samsung Galaxy S5 received bad response from customers coz they failed cheated for not using Snapdragon instead went to Exynos just coz SD was too mainstream and people didn't know much about Exynos

We have to wait &am... moreIt certainly drive 2K display effortlessly. Remember SD810 used for Sony Z5's 4k display and SD810 is scoring less in benchmarks compared to SD652. Well, the other disadvantage with SD652 is it has used 28nm manufacturing process which is not as power efficient as SD820!
Still SD652 in HTC10 does not make any sense. This is turning out to be a suicide in east markets for HTC.

But this rant is completely unnecesery,at least if you are not into mobile gaming.For any other use cases both SoC's are equal!
How do I know this?Right now in my hands i hold iphone 6 and 6s! The difference between A8 and A9 are the same as differences between SD652 and SD820.But belive me,both of my phones perform equally in real life!Sometimes only the difference in color shows me which one is my "s" : )
Maybe that has some to do with my usage habbits,but generally the difference is minor.

This is a wrong decision by HTC both variants should be available in India because India is one of the biggest smartphone market, they might have just turned away thousands of potential buyers. Anyway I will get one for my wife because of the picture quality I heard its great and my wife loves pictures.

HTC can go **** itself, i have owned many HTC flagships(sensation,one x,m8) before and waited for this one should have preordered s7 with Gear VR.
