01 July, 2010
While earlier rumors of the still unannounced Nokia N9 predicted that Nokia's next flagship device will come with a 3.5-inch touchscreen now it turned out that the phone will actually feature a way larger 4" display...

I remember some years back when i was younger, a front facing led was one of the things i listed on my dream phone but as i grew older, i ruled it out when i realised with the led on, you won't be able to see the screen! I don't think that is a led. That would be dumb. The three openings are proximity sensor, light sensor and front camera. They shouldn't be that exposed on the final product.

PKR, 01 Jul 2010phone's tight y'all. my only concern is resolution. if it ... moreIt most definitely won't get the iphones resolution. That would be simply excessive. It should be 800 x something. It would take a company like like sony ericsson to put a resolution of 640 x 360 on a 4inch screen.

i have read about this phone in the other rumor website, that this phone has advance amoled screen, that can compare to i4 retina lcd screen, and samsung galaxy super amoled. This phone also support a multi touch, this phone is to be called the x8 not n9! And theirs another color for this the white, its written in the above of phone x8 while this on n9. I can provide you the link if you mind asking me guys.

                  phone's tight y'all.
my only concern is resolution. if it will end up at 640x360 then we're dealing with the epicest fail in the history of modern industrial science.

i do hope that it will get iphone's resolution.

The problem of lagging in symbian as i understand it is not one of processor speed or and most definitely not ram. Its the os design itsself. In symbian, every aspect of the os is treated as an application. Everything from telephony through messaging to contacts. Even the menu and homescreen are applications. When you open your messages, the phone starts the messaging application. This means that there is no priority for core ui components. They are treated as third party apps would be. This has its advantages though as it means you can modify virtually everything about the ui using apps. I still maintain that if there is anything symbian^3 is, its definitely not slow. The video i've seen are very impressive.

Yani, 01 Jul 2010Thanks for the links. I've seen them both and have noticed... moreI understand, thats why I mentioned 128 mb Ram, resistive screen, 434 mhz cpu.. N8 can handle those themes perfectly (I think still there will be some lag). But With those links I want to say you that symbian is not that bad but lacks speed..

                        Thanks for the links.
I've seen them both and have noticed a great lag in those custom UIs and some other cons.
                        Verdict:
So the UI is there but the speed isn't --> what you pay is what you get (more money more sweetnes).

I know Symbian has all the nice goodies like OperaMini, VPN, Flash, VNC,... but their screens are all so tiny and hard to read and even on older models you don't have touch and you need to do everything thru the numeric keyboard.
Sorry for me personally it just doesn't cut it in 2010, yes in 2005 it was the best there was but Mr. Jobs corrupted everything with multi-touch input on a nice 3.5" (i'm eyeing Galaxy S).

I request you to see how a theme can change the whole ui on Nokia 5230 ( resistive screen, 128 mb ram, on gpu, 434 mhz processor)

But then again... beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...
