So Microsoft basically bought Nokia cause Nokia quit the smartphone industry. So Nokia was a fail, and Microsoft bought a 'failed' company. How more stupid could u be??

because bash is useless without unix apps installed.
if you want to run unix apps, you should use a real unix-based os, like ios or android. not windows. lol.
i've been able to run linux commands with my android for years. i think ios guys can also do that easily if they jailbreak their device.

If WP can make there converter to work then there is enough apps for everyone.
I have WP phone and I don't have any issues with it. I had android before to.
Ok this android was 4-5 years ago and it was galaxy gio a cheap phone.
I have 830 now and I payed 230 euro for it a bit over half a year ago.
I don't spend money on a phone more then 300 euro and even 300 is a lot for me for just a phone. IPhone cost 700 euro and that's starting point. If I broke my phone or just want a new one I will go to shop and buy it out without lease.
Thing is that I know I am clumcy so if I drop my phone and it's screen gets spider net I need to buy new one and I wont buy used phone. If I lose it or what ever.
It's something I use for making my business in daily life. I answer calls and make calls.
I don't use phone to be in front of a screen all day long. I am one of the old people that walk around and look around and not like all others that look screen when walking or driving a car and text or in a bus where they are looking there social media.
If I am home then I have TV on that is already one screen and my home desktop PC that behind I sit most of the time that I am home and not sleeping. I play games like 130 hours a month. I rather spend on my pc then a some small device that screen is not big enough and need to be small enough to fit in the pocket and wont get in a way when moving.

first they make a crappy mobile OS,then they leave their users with that crappy, non customized OS and before they did with window 7 devices and now with windows 8.1,
Then what is fun of buying a new window 10 device....

There is nothing wrong with Windows Phone only problem is famous apps & overpriced phones that will change coz of Universal apps & 3rd party phones like Acer & HP which are coming soon

Some interesting comments / opinions here.
I'm in agreement with those if you who believe a closed / fixed tile OS that dictates your fonts / appearance etc is it's biggest downfall.
I understand why they're doing it - to try to keep consistency with PCS. But it's the whole principle of assuming everyone wants / should have the same.
It's the same analogy of the difference between communism & democracy.
Only one of these is successful. The other fails time & again because it works against human nature.
Bit deep - but just trying to justify my theory of why people are turned off by this OS & why app developers are reluctant to bother with it.

And next year fiscal report would be nothing but a disaster if microsof does not change it's attitude toward mobile buisness. Making plastic phones with no exceptional hardware having such crazy high price tags running on an old not attractive OS... what do you expect??

(a... moreerm no actually same specs in android phone is much much faster, it is a flaw in the operating system , even adding a language takes ages , forget switching through any apps that are not native , just a total faliure compared to IOS and Android... shame as windows 8.1 had lots of potential. I enjoyed using it for basic calling , emails or sms but anything more no way.

The new cool, the new be different is using a Windows phone. lol Everyone has an Android or an iOS device. But very few live in the edge of bugs and crashes, and still manages to end the day successfully. My salute to all the Windows phone users.

The default looks horrible no doubt. But the customization level is insane out of the box. People don't realize that. It's my favourite of the 3. I use my lumia 950xl as my daily. Once I went windows I fell in love. I too thought it was bad at first.
Now, the stats are fine, MS is retrenching from phone market to build a new category like with the surface line. They only made the new lumia 950/xl for the fans. Didn't sell them with any carriers. Verizon was left out. 0 advertising. They won't come back until they have something worthy of showing off. Spring 2017 is their goal for the new device lineup. And by then windows 10 will be finished. But as someone who previews the latest builds. It is just getting better and better. It's pretty amazing. Buggy sure as they are pre-release builds but the features that keep coming are truly great.

Performance/Reliability/Productivity - Moto G 3rd Gen (2 GB RAM, 16GB internal memory) is near perfect for my needs. If you need higher end, go for Moto X Play/Nexus 5x/Moto X Style/Nexus 6/Nexus 6P. Whatever I said about Moto G3 will still be applicable, with each of the aspect being even further better than Moto G3. No bloatware, timely android updates, need I say more.
Security - Are you sure MS/Apple are saints, while only Google is the devil? I honestly doubt it.

Its because of their low specs and high price mobile
