I'd like to be able to charge, play music on my home thetre and use my phone simultaneously so killing the 3.5mm jack? That's a no from me.

When will those stupid companies understand that people don't want Paper thin phones?

How long will a full charge last on your Bluetooth headphones? Local media storage, not Cloud/Spotify.
I too have a Bluetooth headphones, but it's big and cumbersome. Plus it only last about 4 hours. Charging it is even worse, 2 hours or so. Well it is a fake product of a terribly famous brand, famous in the color of RED, and the letter B, I bought it very cheaply just to try a Bluetooth wireless headphones. Oh even though its foldable it is still big and doesn't come with a hardcase.

What should you do when you're charging and using the headphones at same time :(
And using an adaptor for it would be ridicules!

I like the idea of Universal connector. However, instead of the current flat shape of the connector, it would be aesthetically good for music or generally if there's a round shape implementation of USB-C.

lack of that jack will kill sales immediately,usb type c are very fragile like old micro usb and is useless by any means,those usb jacks are designed to be fragile making people buy new cell instead of repairing it,apple own lightning connector is the best micro plug in terms of design and usability

this is just a capitalizing idea from these manufacturers
i hope everyone remembers the time when all phones had their own propietary pc cables? it took a revolution to convert all cables to usb, and still apple didn't play along. usb is by far the most fragile of ports, nothing compared to the sturdy 3.5mm jacks available.
plus after such an implementation oems will be able to restrict headphones by brand(although some of this can be seen in 3.5mm ports too)
relying on a single port for audio, charging, syncing is too much, leading to more wear and tear..
lastly for the information of oems probably won't even bother looking through these comments, and to gsma who can bring it to their attention, the idea of putting digital to analogue convertors on headphones is like adding a soundcard into your headphones...there are people around the world ho depend on headphones ranging from 3 dollars to 10, imagine how costly they can become. for example even the cheapest noise cancelling headphones will cost around 200$..now add a sound card??
if your problem is battery life, stop making faster processors and adding up ridiculous amounts of ram(my phone now has more cores that my pc) make lighter OS and apps, its not rocket science, by far winmo was so light it needed only 500mb of ram, even now win10 needs only 2gb for super performance, same goes for iphone whihch has 2gb ram on its flagship, and for all practical purposes iphones generally function better than androids.

why don't they make use of magnetic ports. like sony magnetic charging ports but modified into audio output. won't compromise waterproofing too.

Well it seems these companies just want to change things without finding out how the end user will react to the new development. We are the ones who end up buying and using these devises and we do not want complicated lives due to this. If they change the Jack to a USBc thing they should at least put TWO OF THEM, ONE AT THE TOP AND ONE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PHONE AND NOT ON THE SIDES OF THE PHONE. The audio USBc should remain in use for audio and not for charging the phone. Imagin you want to use your head phones to make a call because because your hands are full and your phone is charging and you can't use it because there is one USBc port on your phone......??? I still love the Jack and they have been putting it at the right place in most of the new model of phones.

personally i think it's very stupid to put all the connectors in one port, we all know that charging port breaks way to easy. they should first improve and look for a better solutions for diff types of ports. more stability and reliable, beside why get rid of something that works great such as 3,5mm? i can only see that they want to make more money then making things better. breaking charging port doesn't cover by the warranty, and it's quite expensive to replace them at authorize service. so before we all rush in to the "go with the flo". I think we all should take a moment and think about the agenda behind it all.

Just to be sure, they would make at least make 2 usb-c port for each phone right?
Imagine one port for everything but only one port, that would be more of a hassle than a good thing, and really education needs to be improved for those "Gadget lover" who only wants thinner phone, stop with this less port less everything just be thin-thing I hope the phone maker would still be reasonable with their product in the future.

Should have gone to 2.5mm jack first.. It is slimmer than 3.5mm and it is easily compatible with all the headset with an adapter.. Even my old Nokia 7650 features 2.5mm jack.. Nokia is a genius

Very few OEMs offer decent to great audio quality with hardware headphone jacks and now they want to get rid of it? Improve the audio performance of your phones first before anything else!
