iphone screen beats SuperAMOLED every time. Pretty colours don't mean a better visual experience, more pixels does.

It took Wave 4 weeks to get 1M sales.
And it took iPhone 4 how long? An hour? To get pre-orders stopped because they ran out of stock.

At the same time, 1M is a nice figure, but I think Samsung expected more. As for Galaxy S - I wonder which one (wave, galaxy s) will sell more since Galaxy S costs around twice as much, if I'm not mistaken.

Wave, 13 Jul 2010I don't want thousands of apps just want good ones like a ... moresamsung are a major sponsor of chelsea and will make sure come the start of the season there are EPL apps. In fact the bada os was demoed with a mock chelsea app with the ability to buy tickets. So it will take time... The iPhone app store has been out for years, bada only 1 month !!

Mohib, 13 Jul 2010Proud to be a Wave owner :)What I feel is people just miss 'the point' when they compare iphone with every single phone from other manufacturers....

'the point' is iphone is just a single phone that's being manufactured by apple whereas other manufacturers (e.g. SAMSUNG,SE,HTC,NOKIA,etc) launch multiple products in the same time.

APPLE targets a selected few whereas all other manufacturers cater to every single individual....so the comparison of every single product in the market with iphone is absolutely as dumb as saying 'just dont hold it that way' ;)

it wont make sense to compare sammy s8500 wave's sales with iPhone 1st gen's. iPhone first released in 2007 with limited function with attractive easiness and design. Sammy made the s8500 way ahead of today's advanced phones with fantastic AMOLED and audio- visual capability.

              That is it.

Anyway it is a good news for sammy- congratz.

Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010the wave is selling mainly due to its features and screen n... moresadly you have no idea what you talking about, bada platform is a open source platform and that give it an edge compare to Android as well as iOS, that is why its easier to develop apps as well as running much smother and more responsive compare to any other phone. Please don't post rubish here if you haven't done your homework and not know anything about Bada. with 1 million owner, the bada is a garanteed to kick off and it has samsung support all the way, the apps will hit 1000 by end of September.

Im an iPhone owner as I think its brilliant and often see how other phones compare to it. I must admit I was very impressed when I played around with my mate's Bada Wave. The Super AMOLED display was gorgeous, the phone is very touch sensitive and I found the scrolling from page to page smooth. My experience with Samsung has normally been poor but with the Wave I think Samsung have got the hardware aspect right. My only concern was the software support and if Samsung can provide excellent App and software support for the Bada OS, Samsung have a winner here :)

i dont know about samsung's previous buggy laggy phones but this phone really deserves it.. the phone itself is really rocking it, and about the OS, it isnt bad at all..its really stable and has a lot of functions to it.. its really user-friendly. all the OS needs now is more usefull apps and there it is a complete package with a very low astonishing price..
really happy with the phone and theres still a lot more to come in it.. so get it y'all and enjoy something really different and worth it

the wave is selling mainly due to its features and screen not the bada platform, which is very similar to use really to android but lacking the best features and app support, but well done to samsung, the galaxy s is mighty competitir to the htc desire throne as top phone, this time next year all androids will be running with an super amoled screen like the galaxy s,its the best there is,and no doubt with the inevitable slight pixel increase it stop those silly iphone 4 fanboys screaming about how their screen has sharper text when you zoom in to the maximum level the page allows

Good job samsung, What i hope is that they release an update for the OS~ a good start for a good os~ though the OS is still immature, I must say, it is quite stable for a first born of its kind so here is a salute to samsung for making such an awesome phone with such an awesome price!

ssj, 13 Jul 2010I really don't understand why people compare every new OS a... moreThey didn't compare to Apple just because it's Apple. But they compare every new touch phone to Apple's greatest success, the iPhone, not the product itself.

You should know the fact that even though the iPhone isn't the god like phone, it still the most popular touch phone available on the market.

until and unless nokia reduces the price.. wave is gonna beat nokia out of that market segment where Nokia used to rule for last 5-6 years.

great, it seems like an attractive OS with cheaper devices, and now app-developers should turn their attention towards Bada OS, i want to see tomtom, garmin, skyscape, nimbuzz and all these apps i used with symbian and android out, then this device would be my next phone!
