actually i play all new games on 1080 55-65fps always no issues !
of course my GPU is Overclocked

Open your eyes, brain and google about gtx 1080 and gtx 1070. Though actual specs of gtx1070 is not revealed but it is an officaly accepted fact that gtx1070 is faster than titan x and the reason behind it i said it for two times besides i proved it by posting two links

Because poor consoles dont have the option to mod a game. Gta 5 is a modders paradise . As i said serious fps gamer probably look for game running at minimum 75fps on max settings in min1080p resolution ( triple monitor setup). Compare gameplay differences between a console and pc. Smoothness, graphics etc will be incredibly higher than that of console. If you are unable to afford a gaming rig, dont babble sh*t about it samer1970

GTX 1070 is NOT faster than... moreActually you missed my comment based on living through nvidia tactics recently, and what little I have been able to read about these cards confirms they are doing it again, like they did with the last series over the series before it.
So -people who forked out $1000 in the last 14 months or so will be given by nvidia,until it decides to play nice again, purposefully hampered performance.
You know, so they can wow people who can read with articles like this.
People who can think and people without short term memory impairment on the other hand, have reason for skeptisism.
If you have an issue with people in tech forums trying to share knowledge, I pity your voice, but I also dont care to hear it if it is just going tomgo 'personal attacks'.
I don't see any intelligent discussion, and screaming or repeating yourself probably wont help. The issue isn't you keyboard, but somewhere between it and the chair. (Pebkac)

Sure, being faster card dual screen 1080 is a piece of cake to render, and with a solid cpu should do high frame rates as well (basis for vr),.. But
Nvidia has crippled 3d gaming for quite awhile now.
The 'this card is for 3d gaming' sorry, 'gaming in 3d' is probably helped along more by direct x 12s better cpu usage for draw calls etc.
They will get some lovely stats and graphs to show how great these cards are in rendering 3d vs earlier gen cause nvidia are nasty and have purposefully killed 3d in the lead up to the new launch products.
Some of us gamers have been using nvidia 3d implementation for well over a decade.
Six months ago I could even, with A LOT OF HARD WORK, force my machine to do what I could do back in the early naughties/noughties (00's)..
They know what they are doing; even been giving a 180 days extendable license to their 'play tv' software (the software 90% of nvidia 3d users need), and not charging for it "whilst they sort it all out"... But it is dead.
A reinstall of windows (using ALL THE SAME HARDWARE) and I cannot get the setup to work again... They don't want it to.
But I bet if I bought this 'new card' which is vr optimised, it would all just 'click'.
I could list and rant for quite awhile about dirty tactics used by this hardware manufacturer at a software level and industry level,.. And I am a fan and willing to sit on the fence and not believe what my eyes show me regularly.
This is a veru good time to switch teams.
AMD gave the basis for direct x 12. Nvidia even toyed with its own api's but who would bother given their sell to base is, at best, a little over half gaming pc sales...
When developers optimised for mantle and amd cards, the benefits could be found everywhere nintendo/sony/microsoft/a lot of handhelds.... And PC!
The industry could see it, and direct x 12 was born.
M$ sees it as a way to get people onto win 10 (remember only vista getting direct x 10)
Win 10 is vista, with a new front end.
Now they see high adoption rate of direct x 12 as a way to increase xbox sales (it will gain from more titles being optimised), so win 10 is free etc
Support companies who don't try to fleece us!
Microsoft did badly by themselves by putting a $40-50 video chip in their superconsole, the competitors wisely allocated way more budget to componentry that mattered.
Xbox has waaay less grunt than ps4 (it doesn't typically affect gameplay, but platform loyalists will bicker about this ongoing)...
The only reason to upgrade a video card in a pc? 4k/triple screen and VR
So nvidia will screw over exisiting users by not optimising drivers in key areas for older hardware, then 'blow us away' with new 'benchmarked' products that can magically deliver what we need.
I will buy a second gtx card and look for direct x 12 titles for my dualscreen/VR renders.
Except there is the whole nvidia gimping my exisiting product of features I have always had..
( i am a techie to this industry for greater than twenty years, the lockouts in software on nvidia is more and more grinding me - they are actually stipping features where possible)
I understand why video cards being replacable is a good thing, but when games lowest common denominator is a five year old video card, any decent card from the last few years is relatively future proof.
Bring on some software that makes this thing push hard for 60hz 1080 and I will be very interested!!
I run everything ultra generally greater than 100frames per second. Five year old card.
If I wanted 4k/triple screen I could source another card for a couple of hundred and be good for quite a few years.
And I have VR.

AMD needs to focus on power consumption too instead of BitCoin mining -_-

PC has the Steam store that is basically flooded with titles that are PC-only.
the so-called newer gen consoles are a joke. Xbox played it safe by giving 720p or 900p whereas PS4 tried to become like a PC at 1080p and now most games suffer from fps dips. its sad that console gamers think that fps dips are natural. no wonder Sony is rumored to upgrade the PS4. once you play a game at ultra preset even in 720p@60Hz on PC you're never going back to console.

Destroyer, 09 May 2016Been an AMD fan all my life don't know why just like suppor... moreSure this hardware sounds solid; but then you'd be supporting Nvidia, and as an (ex) long term fan, I wouldn't touch them. Which sucks cause this card sounds everything like what Ive been waiting for.
Through drivers they cripple their cards (floating point at 1/24 the card speed so as to qualify developers buying quattro/high end stuff)
My 590gtx didn't have the driver lock downs on colour output and let me max out my hmd-t3w at 12-14bit colour, but consumers class stuff like this; nooooooooooo.
Then there is the whole physx only runs in hardware (amd cant have it), gamers run amd as primary and keep an nvidia for physx (nvidia stop this), then cause every system on the market is using amd (consoles etc) they allow physx software modes cause they lnow they can better gimp the competition using 'gameworks'...
I could list a tonne of anti nvidia stuff, but i generally only like to say positive things, so I should, and will, just shutup.
What I know for fact is that whilstever there is an option against this, I will take it, otherwise I will just hold on.
Waiting for the competitor to compete with this?/ spend money on the console you've always toyed with getting and enjoy a whole new range of games.
When nvidia can play nice with the market again (not top tier anticompetitive bs where only the gamers suffer) then they might get my money. Ideally on a priduct like the ones mentioned above, which have me drooling.
But I want high colour depth, and 3D and not intentionally gimped performance so they can sell me a new product and.....etcetc
