If I'm not wrong, previously Nokia mobiles were also made in India. And it was of same quality as that of non India pieces. And Nokia was known for it's durability in India.
And coming to the point, made in India phones by apple will also be of same quality like before until and unless apple keeps an eye on production. It may harm their name. India is also one of the fast growing market for iPhone. They will maintain the quality.

Where its made is significant for 1 aspect, which is the retail price in that country and probably others too (purely in terms of logistics and labor). Quality depends on the brand itself. A brand like apple would never compromise on quality (they cant afford to, especially now). If they are gonna start manufacturing in a new country it would have a 1000 reasons, but 1 surely among them would be "no compromise in quality".
You know why i say those are idiots, coz they cant differentiate between who makes it and where its made...

Apple has sold more than 700Million Iphones till date, not because of they were made in China or The United States, but because of their quality, uniqueness, simplicity and what not. It is more of a status symbol in many second and third world countries than just a requirement. For an Apple user, it really doesn't matter where it's manufactured, as Tech Giants like Apple will never compromise on quality what so ever. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter to Apple if 20 people on this forum don't want to buy iphone just because it's made in India.

With manufacturing largely being automated, where a product is made isn't really as important as the administration and quality checks it goes through. I've examined made in India Galaxy A-series phones and there's nothing in them that suggests a difference between Indian and non-Indian made products.
Bother about WHO makes your products and HOW, not WHERE it's made.... :)

I think if/when that happens...that would be a wise move for apple - it could end up selling more phones in india itself because they are appealing to national pride - Made in India.
It could be possible that savings could be made in india, easier logistics to EU etc.
Let's wait to see.

If it iphones are produced in India, atleast the TAX will be reduced, so that we can have the phone for cheaper. I think the design, components and quality will not be compensated, irrespective of where ever it is manufactured. This will be beneficial for both Indian customers and apple is India has the largest growing phone market in the world.
