Juz imagine that..if this problem is from NOKIA company..symbian^3..
Again..NOKIA decided to solved this problem with their new upgraded software Symbian^3 version 3.1..
What again on this situation??
But dont worry..this will not be happen in NOKIA ever n ever..

Thats impossible to line up your signal bar with upgrading software..
Signal reception is hardware issue how come app|e can fixed thi s problem with i0s4.o.1 ???
Please have some I T knowledges on this stage..

As for the iPhone 4. Well i think the Antenna problem is a Hardware issue.

I don't like what they've done to the Signal Bar. with 4.0 it looks neat and now with 4.1 all they've done is made them fatter so it tricks into thinking the signal is full WHICH IT IS!
I've upgraded to 4.1 on the 3GS and 4.1 is way better then the 4.0 for the signal comparism

Why would your so called "android fanboys" say that the iPhone needs a recall, even IF "android fanboys" never even bought an iphone4 in the first place. the only people that requested the iphone4 to be recalled are the normal people who bought an iphone4, and some of the "apple fanboys" who swallowed their pride and accepted that the iphone4 has a HARDWARE flaw that no software update can save. If you think I'm wrong, then prove it to me and the other people reading this that a mobile phone company released a software update that adds a Wi-fi connectivity to an old school phone like the nokia 3210? or something similar.
One more thing, i don't remember android phones having "death-grip" issues. Why should they be recalled? Why can't you just accept that Jobs made a huge mistake. Your really making yourself look stupid and immature, just like Jobs saying "just avoid holding it that way!"

This fix to the signal is just as fraud as you can imagine... How can a software fix a physical hardware issue? Also, every time when I laid my work phone (BB) with co-worker's iphone 4 side by side on a table, even the BB has 2-3 bars the Iphone always has full signal, I don't understand how much more Steve Job wants to 'fake' the signal. Of cuz when you hold it iphone 4 the signal will drop.
Let's see what crab Apple willing to give to fool you fan boys.

William, 16 Jul 2010Iphone really really sucks! It doesn´t changes nothin... moreyou can download any radio station you want and you dont need to have the head phones in to listen to it so its so much better and the camera is not that bad and recorder is in hd so its good all round phone.....

The new update is great, 5 bars full signal even in the low signal areas or previously no signal zones. Because ALL Iphones miss calculated all the signal showing say, 1-2 bars when it should be 5 I have no issues with this.
Remember what Steve Jobs said, Hardware takes time to "settle in" because its cold has to warm up. So the external dual antenna should improve with time and firmware updates boosting its power output. Once its burned-in it can only improve.
Only Android fanboys say the phone needs a recall. No all android devices need a recall as just all copies of the iphone

Guys, you all get it wrong. Apple didn't even mention anything about improving signal strength! The software only fix the signal bar problem that gives more bar than it should be. Apple clearly state that on the statement!!!

I hope Iphone 4 gets recalled coz then I can mount an attack on Nokia for not recalling the N97, which in my view the experience was worse than what Iphone 4 users are going through. At least you can hold it in a different position and get some signal my N97 simply froze when a call came in or when I was about to make a call. Having to reset the damn thing every other day and reinstalling apps, settings, contacts, files etc. losing up to 3 hrs a time. I now use the HTC Desire leaving my unusable N97 packed away in it's original box. Been on ebay a couple of times but failed to sell and that's £500 worth of a phone.
So yeah Apple go ahead and recall the damn phone and pave the way for more recalls or lawsuits.

Is Apple even aware of the proximity sensor problems? My ear/cheek mute calls and people naturally hang up after the line goes quiet on them. This might just be the next big issue.

the signal bar is for visual purposes only!!! some phones have no signal bar, and you still can make phone calls with no problems.
