It's really sad to see what the american role model has come to. Willing to take credit for other success and blaims anything and anybody other than themselves when there is a hint of bad new. Where did we learn such a repulsive behavior patten? I blaim the US legal system.

      Try this steve

"The Iphone 4 exhibits some signal loss issues. It is easily avoided by using a case or by holding such that one doesn't compromise the external antenna. As a token of our appreciations to our customers, we will give you your choice of cases to all iPhone 4 buyers"

it will work better than your approach.

And Im gonna buy one, but obv... moreI had an iPhone 3GS before, I don't like it, because of it's closed system, and everything you need to do with it needs iTunes, iTunes, iTunes... Doesn't even do bluetooth file transfer, and that's s**ks...

Some people have compared the reaction of Toyota and that of Apple to put things in perspective and i think it's a good comparison. I can't help but think that it reflects the culture. Japanese culture is based on loyalty, duty and honour. It seems the other one is about arrogance and deception. Or maybe it's just Steve's attitude. It would have been very interesting to see the reaction of some countries had Toyota instead of accepting the fault and recalling millions of their cars just go on blaming others and say ' hey, no vehicle is perfect, look at honda, general motors, bmw, chrysler, volkswagen they have some problems too'. Its not just about making lots of money, Toyota clearly lose billions of Yen to restore trust, pride and honour.

Every mobile company have had some kind of problem with their products once in a while, but i've never heard such arrogance and naivety like what apple did with pointing fingers to other manufacturers. I remember kids acting like this in kindergarten when they break a window. But person with this kind of attitude can never be trusted. It's a matter of honour.

That grip they use in the press conference is the dumbest way to hold a phone I've ever seen. How is that "death grip" a normal way to hold a phone? I mean yeah all phones have signal attenuation issues, but still, to sit there and sell bring other companies down to your level because you made a screw up, just isn't right. I finally saw that press conference I missed it on Friday, but its just a bunch of bull. I don't know about the rest of the world but, I've held a phone with that kind of grip, and in the demo's it looked like they were using a pretty tight drip. None the less, I'm glad that all the other companies are comming out and saying something. Yay! Apple sold 3million defected units in 3 weeks.
They've always been able to get away by selling a mediocore product for an insane ammount of money. They do it with their computers, and iPods (MP3 players) and everything else the do. A good company will own up to their faults. Toyota did it (not a cell phone company but a good example) when they had to recall over a million cars because they messed something up on all of them. Apple relys on marketing gimmicks to get their product to see, they appeal to the younger generation, with more money than brains.

As analizing what other phone manufacturer's comment, it seems Apple made a lot of mistake this time. Job didn't realize that these manufacturers are clever enough not to do the bold move to put antenna outside. But since Apple wants their iPhone to be the leader in innovation, they did it and get failed. Its not all bout iPhone hater or iSheep now. Its bet. Jobs and Phone Manufacturers. Its just so sad to think that Apple CEO couldnt confess that they made a mistake.
