NO, THIS CANT BE TRUE!!
Steve Jobs has surely brainwashed over 3 million people! I have seen it! The iphone 4 emits microwave signals that take over brains and FORCE the people to buy the device. It's like the Siren song for sailors. Right now, 3 million more people are being lured in! There's no other explanation! The talk of satisfied customers is a lie!
There's a simple test to perform to find out if a member of your family is converted. They don't complain. They don't brag about the specs on their phone. They dress well.

lol this is why Apple will not offer an actual solution to fixing the design and fault of the iphone reception issue because they are still making so much money. It is really sad actually.

Seriously I don't understand why are ppl buying over-priced mac or ipad over the higher specs but cheaper peers? Is apple brand worth more than physical advantages?

You can shove that sh!tload of market share in your ass all you want but you still can't change the fact that Apple is the best being the most profitable company in the mobile market. Even all nokia phones combined can't compete to iPhone's profit if life depends on it. The iPhone alone makes billions while all nokia phones only has a puny little profit. Plus, Nokia FAILED to make a single high-end phone to compete with iPhone's sales. Sorry kid. Nokia is soon to expire.

[deleted post]What success? Nokia shipped 350 million smartphones, how much did your hype company sell? Apple would always be relegated to a niche market. How much marketshare does Apple have in computers? 3% for many years now. LOL.

The global smartphone market grew 10% over the past 6 months. Nokia and RIM have grown unit sales and each quarter been flat or grown market share. HTC, Samsung and Motorola each has grown unit sales and market share. Of the major manufacturers over the past 6 months, only Apple has lost unit sales and lost market share. Its peak was 17% a year ago, it is 14% now and falling. Lets see how many 'analysts' report on this fact.
While the gossip in America is that Apple is somehow 'winning' in smartphones - it is gaining in the US market yes, but globally Apple is falling behind. Apple is indeed the most proftiable smartphone maker and its app store has most apps and there are a lot of web views reported by Admob etc. That is all smoke-and-mirrors. The big number that matters - is market share. And Apple's market share peaked in Q3 of 2009 and has been in free-fall since. This is now really dangerous, as there is Apple's Antennagate and Death Grip hurting this current Q3 (July-Sept) quarter, as IDC reported, two thirds of Apple current iPhone owners are delaying iPhone 4 purchases until Death Grip is fixed, and operators are starting to delay iPhone 4 launches - South Korea's KT was first to do so,. The prognosis for Apple's market share in 2010 is dire.

I wonder how many of those iPhones are from existing iPhone owners. With Android on the rise, I think the iPhone4 sales are frontloaded.

Relaity check iFanb0is:
Apple has just reported its Quarterly numbers. iPhone unit sales were 8.4 million, which are down severely from Q1 (8.75M) and down from Q4 of 2009 (8.7M). Apple market share is down again, now to 14% - it is down from the peak from a year ago, in Q3 of 2009, when Apple's smartphone market share peaked at 17%. Since then its clear that Google Android has picked up a lot of market share. But the really bad news is that all of Apple's rivals have been growing since Apple's peak last year. HTC has grown and now is starting to near Apple to rival for 3rd place among biggest smartphone manufacturers. RIM has grown unit sales and market share - ie RIM is pulling away - since Q3 of 2009, Apple has NOT been catching up to RIM. And Nokia is far-and-awawy the planet's best-selling smartphone, which up to Q1 of 2010 had been growing unit sales and market share (and is likely to grow both again this Q2, but we have to wait now a couple of days until Nokia reports its quarterly numbers).

Reality distortion field (RDF) is a term coined by Bud Tribble at Apple Computer in 1981, to describe company co-founder Steve Jobs' manipulative marketing propaganda and its effects on the developers working on the Mac project. Later the term has also been used to refer to perceptions of his keynote (or Stevenote) by observers and devoted users of Apple computers and products (iFanb0is).
Bud Tribble claimed that the term came from Star Trek.
In essence, RDF is the idea that Steve Jobs is able to convince himself and others to believe almost anything with a mix of charm, charisma, bluster, exaggeration, marketing, appeasement, and persistence. RDF is said to distort an audience's sense of proportion or scales. Small advances are applauded as breakthroughs. Interesting developments become turning points, or huge leaps forward. Impossible-seeming schedules, requirements or specifications are acceded to. Snap judgments about technical merits of approaches are sometimes reversed without acknowledgment. Those who use the term RDF contend that it is not an example of outright deception but more a case of warping the powers of judgment. The term "audience" may refer to an individual whose attitudes Steve is intending to affect.
Often the term is used as a derogatory remark to criticize Apple's products and its more enthusiastic fans.
The term has extended in industry to other managers and leaders, who try to convince their employees to become passionately committed to projects, sometimes without regard to the overall product or to competitive forces in the marketplace. It also has been used with regard to hype for products that are not necessarily connected with any one person.
