'most probably if you owned an S7 edge because S7 Edge is not clownable and can be a real flagship not only in the eye of the beholder but everyone who see it.'
Or you just pretend?
What mid-range samsung phones are you talking about, when he pointed flagship phones?

Mate, and Sony is too. If you happen to have an Xperia (esp the z-series), people think you too are rich or something. But most people doesn't buy sony nor iphone since they cant afford them. Only Samsung where they do have a low- to mid-end phones that are widely available in the archipelago.

      What a doctored poll. LOL
Now take out the GS7Edge off the the poll. And try again.
Bet on that GS7(smaller) will put HTC 10 and all others in the dust.
Or put one more HTC model , and see the result:)
Same trick the tech media did not long ago , when iPhone had to win the first place - they divided GS4 on two: GS4 US and GS4 International. So their lovely iphone won again, but GS4 US and GS4 were on the second and forth place. :) Otherwise GS4 would win and that shouldn't happen.

AnonD-331984, 22 May 2016Now riddle me this. First of all there are no professionals... moreIt's because the s7 and s7 edge are closer substitutes. How can you dopey fanboys miss something so obvious?

Most of the people who think the s7 is better than the HTC 10 also think the s7 edge is better than the s7 due to the better design and better battery, so they'd all vote for the s7 edge except those who don't like that its bigger. The s7 and s7 edge should be a single choice.

Also the fact that HTC shipped the 10bout with an unlocked bootloader shows that they still care about the community of developers that like to play outside the box with their phone as well as those who want to squeeze the most from their phone.

Samsung locking it down is akin tobAppke locking their iPhone from jailbreaking. To me that's a scary, underhanded business tactic to try and force people to adhere to their rules. To me that takes away the very open nature of Android that Google was aiming for.

..am rooting for the Japanese, Sony makes quality electronics in their traditions. While Samsung will sell more due to large marketing campaigns and budget, it doesn't necessarily mean their phones are the best! Kudos to HTC, great craftmaship too!

I own both the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and HTC 10 and I'm honestly finding myself using the HTC 10 more and more as my daily driver. The Pros and construction that I've found between each phone:

                S7 Edge:

Great screen. AMOLED still looks the best IMO.

Gorgeous design. Easy told hold one and two handed. Easily one of the best designs in a long time.

Convenient, albeit bloat, features. Like being able to respond to texts without opening up my messaging program.

                Big screen for media consumption.

Beastly camera that's also freakishly fast to focus. It's much faster than any other camera on the market, and has great pic quality to boot.

Great Battery life. Easily lasts a day with my usage.

Smooth, responsive UI, albeit slow animations.

                Cons:
Durability. It's made of primarily glass, and it's not cheap to replaced you do crack or damage it.

Poor audio, especially over Bluetooth, my HTC 10 blows it away on both phone and BT audio.

                It's a fingerprint magnet.

Edge screen does get in the way sometimes especially when typing.

Right fit in my pocket, and considering I work a physically demanding job I often times get worried about damaging the phone.

Touchwiz's, although nice and fluid, when compared to my 10 it's slow in terms of opening things due to slow animations and I don't like tweaking animation speed because it feels disjointed and looks out of place. To boot, all the additional apps I don't use and am unable to uninstall, and the fact that I can't use some of the convenient features in other, sometimes better apps like Google Messages (sent/recieved notifications, video chat).

Having to turn on the phone to use the fingerprint sensor, I'm loving that the HTC version I can turn on and unlock my phone by just resting my finger on the sensor. Plus, it's slow, and more often than not tempormental and I find myself having to use my lock code.

Selfie camera often produces blurry images, even with beauty mode off.

                HTC:

                Pros:

Very responsive. Every thing isbsnappy, opens up fast and no lag.

Very close to vanilla Android experience. Very little to no bloat.

Good screen, easy on the eyes, very clear and easy to read. Not as good as the S7, but still very nice.

Awesome, super responsive finger print sensor that adds a layer of convenience when trying to unlock my phone in a pinch.

Great gesture controls and tap to wake is a handy feature.

Decent battery, not as good as S7 but does last me up to around 14 hours with my usage before needing a charge, and has QC 3.0 so it's quick to charge.

A lot of customization, more so than the S7, by a mile. Easy to make it your own phone, unlike touchwiz.

Easy to carry around due to it having a very nice design that makes it easier to one hand and slip in my pocket without having to worry about it. Metal is soft the touch, and the curve in the back fits in my palm like no other phone e I've held before. Plus, it's got nifty things like the optical illusion created by the chamferred edges that create a nice talk piece.

Great audio, easily kills the S7 in this category. At 75% volume in phone and headset is much louder end clearer than the S7 at Max volume.

Great selfie camera, to me it's better than the S7's.

                Cons:

Smaller screen took some adjusting to.

                AMOLED is still better.

Not as many convenient features like in Touchwiz.

High SoC throttle threshold it seems, doesn't hurt day to day performance, but in benchmarks it tends to show.

Camera could use some work, still great pics but not as good as the S7's and not nearly as fast to focus although my carrier hasn't released the camera updates from HTC, so until then I can't really form a solid comparison other than its got horrible glare on some pics but Pro mode tends to allow me to fix it.

                Bottom line is..

It's hard for me to choose between the two, but I've been gravitating towards the 10 due to the software experience, customization and audio performance since I stream music and podcasts all day. While the S7 has a bigger screen and convenient features, being able to unlock my phone a lot faster and everything being snappy it tends to not be a big deal. To boot, learning how good HTC is at releasing updates is a huge plus in my book, and the uh oh warranty is a nice thing to have for peace of mind.

                This is just my opinion.

Anonymous, 22 May 2016So what proves it then? Even reviews from professionals wou... moreNow riddle me this. First of all there are no professionals in this case, it's just voting which goes with crowd. Secondly, if the S7 Edge comes in 1st then the S7(non edge) should come in 2nd followed by HTC because the only difference b/w both S7s is the Edge(pls don't say battery/size). Based on that, without the edge the S7 comes in 3rd place.
It means people(The crowd) like the edge thingy which does not make it better.
If you still doubt my point then place S6 edge in the picture(mentally) then you'll find out that with the edge on the S6 the vote will place it at 2nd place which will be a clear fallacy bcos there's no way S6 edge beats S7, G5, 10, XP...

Alien, 22 May 2016I voted for the X Performance: SD820 on a 5" FHD display is... moreWhen Samsung used 1440p in the galaxy s6, people tested battery consumption of the display and found out it took less battery than the 1080p on the s5. Samoled is that much better these days. And phones like the s7 allow you to lower the resolution for gaming if you want to too.

The xperia x had relatively poor battery life so the x performance wouldn't do much better. And it only has 3gb ram and is missing out on other flagship features like 4k recording.

I deliberated for ages on what phone to get next. Looks like I picked wisely :)
Edge is a ridiculously fast camera'd beast of a phone and the screen is just TOO good. Never had such good battery life.
Major kudos to HTC too - they surely deserve joint top spot :)

Good or not, but there are many people who do not like Samsung and for them the better alternative is HTC 10
